Look at Embiid in todays day and age. Hes pretty dominant, and his offensive game is alot more versatile than Odens would have been. Embiid on that side is better and can do a lot more

He would have dominated 90s and early-mid 2000s, in today game i dont see THAT dominance that you guys are talking about

Ill also take embiids defense out on the perimeter when switching on guards occurs. In the paint, we still havent seen Embiid at his best but hes up there
he wouldn't have had many people able to stop. he would have been able to do whatever he wanted down low and the nba still played that way. he would have had 8+ years to add range to his game, and he could have.

he wouldn't have been the ball handler that embiid, ad, cousins, or drummond is though.

We will never know what would have happened, we can just have our opinions about a bunch of what ifs

Lets talk about Zach Lavine instead

The "there weren't dominant centers in the NBA at that time" narrative you guys are trying to run with is so fucking lazy. There were still plenty of guys capable of locking down the post. Shaq was what, 30 and 13 in his prime? Oden was not reaching that. Not close. He would've more of a 21-23 point guy, 12-15 rebounds, and 3 blocks. No one will ever match Shaq's dominance in the post on offense again.

It's just not a good comparison. Saying "closest since Shaq", puts him in the same breath as Shaq, which he wouldn't have been. It's like when you said that Bryce Harper was the best hitter since Barry Bonds (which is laughable). Even if he was the best hitter in the league, you can't put him in the same sentence as Bonds,

Neither are worthy of being in the same sentence as Shaq is my point
