Ah, when you're projected to be $1M over the luxury tax yet still somehow have the ability to sign Demarcus Cousins to a max contract...
Like they cant dump some contracts or trade Otto

Dont get smart

Could also see a sign and trade for otto so simmer down

Again, they're projected to already being over the luxury tax, so no they can't "clear space". That'd be about $56M needed to be cleared and that's just not feasible

And why the hell would New Orleans want Otto Porter's $100M garbage contract? You do this all the time and it pisses me off -- stop suggesting these "perfect deals" without even remotely thinking about the other team involved. In your case, they almost never have the financial ability to get it done

Why wouldnt NO want Porter.... lol

They’ve always needed a wing, and hes underrated, and clearly very much by you

If its a sign and trade, NO would be all over Otto

Lol suggesting, like almost everything that i suggest doesnt become reality. Melo, then boogie to the cavs started being brought up, then recently AD to the Celtics is all over the media

You’re not the one to speak Mr “no one would ever take on Dipo and Kanters awful contracts, and Melo would never want to play with Russ or in OKC”

Just added Otto Porter to the famous bosox list of “this contract is garbage”

Stay tuned for Otto performances thru out the season

Look at his numbers without wall this year. Hes not ready to be a go to guy. Hes a nice role player

No ones saying he’s the next dipo, but hes a very good 4th option on a championship team

If NO and Boogie agreed to a sign and trade, why wouldnt NO take on otto when they’ve been looking for a wing all these years

No other nice starting wing will sign there

Shit, can even squeeze out as much as otto + oubre

NO would be dumb not to do it, and Wizards would 100% do it. Getting another star. Would finally get them over the hump, you do this move 10/10 times, especially being in the East

Boogie, Wall, Beal

2 easy

He's no different than Harrison Barnes really, who is currently the best player on the 2nd worst team in the league. You trade away Boogie, you essentially need to rebuild and that's an awful contract to build around. Otto is a really nice role player, but is not worth a max contract on a rebuilding team.

You also speak of Boogie to CLE and AD to Boston as if they're actually happening lmao. Neither are happening any time soon, as much as I'd love AD.

Indiana should have started a rebuild when they dumped PG13, and instead they're gonna be a 1st round exit with no high valued assets to build around. I'm glad Oladipo abandoned the off-ball bullshit he was doing in OKC because he's always been best on-ball and is playing well, but thats not what Indy needed since he's not someone to build a title around. And the Knicks are an awful franchise, so defending them is pointless... they paid THJ $17.7M/yr to shoot 31% from three, so trading for a bad contract to dump Melo was not shocking.

And i said Melo wouldnt want to be the #2 with OKC, and he's not -- George is. Its a completely different scenario from when i said he wasnt going to the thunder -- you slotted him as a KD replacement and I said that melo wouldnt join a mediocre team like that

And then when AD leaves they're stuck with Otto "4th option" Porter as the best player on their roster. Sounds a lot like what happened to Dallas with Harrison Barnes.

Boogie is either getting traded to the Cavs, or ending up in Washington this upcoming summer

You seriously think we would let go of one of the best big men in the league for some average player? For what? His goggles?

Do you understand when a sign and trade happens?

And do you understand the concept of not being forced into a S&T deal?

When KD went to the Warriors -- they had cap space. Not a ton, but enough to sign him to a deal (iirc it was like $17M), and it was never a financial move to go there. So they traded away Barnes and Bogut so KD could get more money -- but Durant could have signed there.

With Boogie, if the Pelicans don't want the Wizards' assets, then he cannot go to the Wizards for more than the MLE. The Pels can say "look, we understand you don't want to stay with us, and you can go to the Lakers or Rockets if you'd like. But we don't want Otto Porter's contract, so you're not going to Washington". They can S&T elsewhere, but to say they're forced to take a deal with Washington is blatantly wrong, as the Wizards have no leverage at all

No shit they’re not forced to do the sign and trade, but otto and oubre is a good return instead of letting him walk for nothing

Simple

You act like it would be so great, out of all the other possibilities there could be.
