The job of a star is to elevate his team

Phoenix has some guys. They just suck even with booker

Hardens first year in houston had who? And in a deeper western conference

Parsons..who has sucked away from james
Lin..im sure you make fun of him
Asik..I know you hate asik
Patterson, marcus morris, delfino

So keep playing the "wait til he gets a team" card you love. Just like with westbrook last year. Its about the job of stars to make their teammates better
Booker just turned 21....can u pump the brakes. Dudes potential is thru the roof. He WILL make others better, and it’ll help when he has an actual playoff team around him

That's the first time I've ever seen Melo pass out of the post..

He really is changing lol
He is changing. Hard to believe. Becoming more of a catch and shoot olympic melo type of guy. Sometimes will iso but been so much better lately. Hence how much better okcs ball movement has been

I made my booker list

Its not pretty lol
Lets go then post it if you arent scared

idk about that. his assist numbers have always been good. even as a full time shooting guard.
Just wait until pheonix realize they need to run Booker at the point. It’ll happen. Again tho, hes only 21. Hes this good now, just wait till hes 23. When hes in his prime, rip league

there's only 2 teams with guys I wouldn't take over him

Chicago and Brooklyn. That includes his own team

So you have

Bulls = Booker > Lavine or Lauri
Nets = Booker > DLo

Then you have

Raptors = OG > Booker (LOL)

Pacers = Turner > Booker (turners a stud could be really good so its fine)

Cavs = no one young

Celtics = Tatum > Booker (id debate it easily)

Detroit = Luke or Stanley > Booker (LOL)

Bucks = Giannis > Booker

Wizards = Beal > Booker (lol)

New york = KP > Booker (no doubt)

Miami = Dion, Winslow or Josh > Booker (LMAO)

Philly = Embiid > Booker

Charlotte = no one young, monk i guess which is then lol

Orlando = AG > Booker (easily debate it)

Hawks = John Collins > Booker (LOL n u know i love Collins)

Houston = no young studs

Golden state = no young studs

Spurs = Dejounte Murray > Booker (wont lol here bc i love Murray but come on)

Wolves = Towns > Booker (whatever)

Okc = no young studs

Denver = Jokic > Booker (love Jokic but he wont be anything more than he is now, will get better but nothing crazy)

Portland = fuck that entire team

Pelicans = AD > Booker (without a question)

Utah = Donovan > Booker (we’ll see once Mitchell gets back to earth)

Clippers = trash

Lakers = lonzo > Booker (LMAO)

Kings = Fox > booker (love fox but nah)

Memphis = no young studs

Dallas = DSJ > Booker (nah)

i think booker is better than youre giving him credit for but i see where youre coming from. i mostly agree but i do think he still has the potential to be a #1, not the leader but the scorer for a good team, but that wont be phoenix.

Ok first of all you’re using a bunch of vets like Bron Harden Kawhi Boogie Blake etc and saying they’re better than a 21 year old. No shit. Weak way to debate

What kind of way to compare is that? Comparing bron to booker. Come on

This is mostly about young studs up to 23-24 who have potential to be stars, no Lebron James CP3 etc

luke will never get the chances booker does, but he is really good looking. probably not on books level. stanley is nowhere near close.

Taking out vets and guys whove been in the league for awhile

Atl: dennis, collins you’re reaching so hard

Bos: tatum, jaylen all 3 of them in a similar boat even tho dont see Jaylen being that franchise guy. Dope 3rd option on a championship team

Bk: none

Cha: kemba (27 years old, by then Booker will be better its not even a debate)

Chi: none

Cle: none
Dal: none

Den: jokic, murray and harris are close but devin gets slight edge (murray and harris are similar but Booker does everything better, Jokic if anything)

Det: drum (seriously stop)

Gsw: klay curry steph green none, they old vets, wrong topic

Hou: james, chris, gordon, capela. Vet role guys like pj and ariza are tricky (what is this nonsense, ariza pj tucket and shit lol we’re talking about building a team around a young stud, keep up)

Ind: dipo, turner oh so now Dipo is someone to build around huh, how sway. Turner yea

Lac: blake deandre none

Lal: lonzo, kuzma, Ingram. Randle and clarkson i like but idki guess ingram and Kuzma have a case

Mem: gasol conley (none)

Mia: dragic, whiteside (none)

Mil: giannis, middleton (middleton over booker. Cant take u seriously anymore)

Min: butler, towns (butler old, towns sure whatever)

No: ad, boogie (dont mind it)

Ny: kp (yea)

Okc: russ, pg, adams (again, this isnt just listing guys better than him right now)

Orl: aaron (eh, debatable)

Phi: joel and ben, leaning roco, cant say fultz yet (embiid for sure if healthy, simmons has alot of flaws offensively)

Phx: maybe len and bender (lmao)

Por: dame and cj (ARENT LILLARD AND CJ JUST VOLUME SCORERS, ESP CJ?!?!)

Sac: none

Sas: kawhi, lamarcus is better but long term idk(vets)

Tor: kyle, demar, maybe OG (vets and og> booker is lol)

Uta: donovan, gobert, ingles, hood (pretty funny youd actually take ingles over booker right now but anyway, donovan maybe, gobert isnt the #1 guy you build around, hes more of a ben wallace type of role, hood irrelevant to build around)

Was: wall, beal, oubre possibly (wall doesnt count, Booker will be way better than beal when he is his age)

So the only young studs that are for sure over booker and are in an above tier AS OF NOW:

KP
Embiid
Giannis
AD
Towns(sort of)

Same tier:

Booker
Simmons
Donovan(we’ll see once the hot streak stops)
Ingram
Kuzma
Tatum
Harris
Murray
Jaylen
AG
Turner
Jokic

Its like you keep forgetting Booker is 21
my biggest thing about booker, and its seemingly to do with a lot of these players that you seem to love, is that ALL they do is put up volume numbers. your team won't succeed by trying to be '06 kobe, which is clearly the barometer you're trying to set for these kids to whether they're talented or not.

booker does not play good defense. per stats.nba.com, players shoot 48.9% when being guarded by booker compared to the average 43.9 they normally shoot, promoting a difference of +5%. That is the worst among starting shooting guards in the entire league, and 7th among all starters. I know there are a ton of defensive stats out there, and some are more misleading than others, but this one is one of the more telling ones imo for if a player is good or not at defense.

to me, i don't want a player who doesn't even try to contribute on the defensive end, which at times is booker. he'll counter the basket that he just gave up on the other end, and he's already one hell of a shooter and a scorer, but i don't love one-dimensional players like that.

What was Kyrie at the age of 21? Wasnt he just a volume scorer with no defense?

Whats IT? The player you love

Also calling Kobe and Russ nothing more than volume scorers is just ridiculous on your part

Idk OG has kind of a Kawhi or Giannis vibe. Could be a star

But could be a star role player like batum

Yeah he seems like a safe bet to be a really good role player at least. I guess hes what Masai wanted in Bruno lol. Dont know if id take him over Booker just yet though.

as quoted by my man Avery Bradley, defense is 100% effort. Isaiah despite his height difference always gave his all. Kyrie at times in Cleveland showed some defensive effort (and has improved that effort a ton here in Boston)

Booker does not provide that effort. Westbrook will at times provide that effort, but when he doesn't he's 100% checked out of the play.

Kobe in 06 was absolutely a "no-try" defender who cared only about getting buckets, which he did.
