So I came across the NHL.com article (https://www.nhl.com/news/2016-world-cup-of-hockey-schedule-announced/c-778411) regarding this and was surprised by a couple items. First off, Adidas has taken over as the uniform supplier for all teams. Has Nike completely abandoned hockey? I remember they owned Bauer at one point...but then sold it? Help me out hockey gurus, its been a while for me. Second shocker is that ESPN will televise games. ESPN hasn't had much to do with hockey since the last lockout so I'm not sure how I feel about them trying to get back in now. And you know ESPN wouldn't get in on this unless they anticipated some major star power taking part in the cup.
