"What I was saying was about myself, it wasn’t about anybody else. I was saying joining other big time players and joining a team like Golden State is that something I couldn’t see myself doing. We play this game to win and if that’s what somebody is willing to do to win and if that’s what they want to go and do then that’s fine, it’s not against the rules we can’t be mad at anybody for joining whatever team they want to join but what I was saying I’d rather do it with the team I have. I’d rather build it up and to being a championship team"

I’m an old-school guy. I’m a competitor. I never believed that – when you want to be the best, you’ve to beat the best. That’s always been something that’s driven me. Today’s day and age, a lot of these guys are friends. That’s like if Bird decided to go play with Magic or something. These guys, I think the competition makes the game what is.

And Oklahoma, I felt like, was a contending team. They had Golden State on the ropes. I understand when you have great players on losing teams who are tired of losing, struggling in the playoffs every year. You’re the lone star. I’ve been in that position. I could have left Boston years ago, but I stuck it out. I just feel like when you’re that close, as a competitor, you don’t go join the team that just put you out.

That’s just me personally, but we’re living in a day and time where there’s a new generation. Guys I don’t think they are as hungry or competitive as my generation was, and that’s why you’ll probably see more of that."

Another real competitor, the truth

Kevin durant

"You can feel it when you walk in the door, in the practice facility, everybody is just together. That’s something that I can appreciate as a basketball player and someone who values relationships. You can tell that that’s what they stand on, that’s what we stand on. I feel really grateful to play for a team like that and play with a bunch of players who are selfless and enjoy the game in its purest form. They make it about the players, they make it about the environment, so it was really an easy choice."

Russ answer to that

"That’s cute, man. That’s cute.

My job is to worry about what’s going on here. We’re going to worry about all the selfish guys we’ve got over here, apparently. So, we’re going to figure that out."

Dont get why KD gotta imply shit like that. Being a total bitch, and this isnt a first time hes talked negatively about okc team and russ. Dont see a point, especially when russ hasnt been saying anything at all except answering reporters

He's a bitch if he decides to leave a team that has no idea what it's doing?

No idea? Their best player LMa left to win a ring and they still make the playoffs as 5th seed the first year in "the deadly west" , take clippers to 6 games... lma chose to be a second round exit instead of first

If lillard was to even think about leaving , he woildnt have signed the contract he signed. Straight up deal, no team option, no player option, no trade clause, no bullshit. Dude is invested in portland and i love that old school mentality, instead of jumping on bandwagons

They gave $140 million combined to Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe in a panic. That sound like a team that knows what it is doing?

Youre right, those deals were ass. Id give it to crabbe cuz he showed nice game last year, especially shooting the long ball. Not sure about turner tho but the future will tell. Lots of bums got paid this offseason tho

I was impressed with his ability to swindle the city of Portland, lot of grit there.
