lol come on man

He's definitely more valuable than he is talented though. Dude makes $28.2M over the next four seasons, which will be the cheapest starting SF over those next four years not named Brandon Ingram
And everyone has cap space, so the value on a small contract isn't much at the moment.

i disagree. Teams have more cap space, not unlimited

Bpston has projected $30M in cap next year. That's enough for 1 free agent, maybe like Blake Griffin for instance. If we didn't have Jae Crowder then we have $37M in cap space and two holes to fill, not one.

and if crowder made what the average SF makes, aka $18-25M, Boston wouldn't even have enough cap for Griffin.

His contract is even MORE valuable, not less. He's a decent starter #5 option, and not much more than that, but his contract allows the team to add more talent due to more cap space

I'd be 100% fine with the Cavs taking Dunleavy and/or Calderon with their trade exception and helping out our fellow northerns

And there aren't many teams who have the potential to be in the Blake Griffin sweepstakes. You're using an extreme example. Everyone is looking to give out dollars right now, not save them.

But having capable players at $7M helps teams whether they want Blake Griffin, or George Hill with Serge Ibaka. It gives teams cap space to spend for more players

I'm not saying it has no value, I'm saying it's not as much as one would think at the moment

Decides to go to the Mavs, and then the Mavs back out of the Bogut trade, and then Durant goes to the Celtics

Pat riley is a fucking genius. Pure genius. While nba and heat fans were thinking about having hassan bosh and wade back on the court, their big three, riley was thinking 5 years ahead. Dude threw that 10 mill offer at wade to get him heated so he'd leave. He knew signing a 35 year old dude to a 25 mill contract wasnt smart so he made this be a business choice and ran him out of town even though everyone will forget that part in 5 years and will just say wade went home. Bosh is done wit the heat. The doctors wont clear him to play and once it reaches a year of him being off the court, they can drop him contract. Dropped deng jj and everyone, knowing with KD going to the warriors that this year is simply to dump and get cap space for next summer who has so many good promising free agents. Pure genius. By next summer he will have only hassan signed with the cap going up to 110 million. He will have so much damn money to spend. Lets take a minute and clap for the pure genius with some damn fuckiing balls, reminding these chumps its only business and this league is about winnibg and winning now instead of waiting another 3-5 years until bosh and wade finally decide to retire. Pure fucking genius. Instead of going with this trash ass big three, he will contruct a new one by next summer. GENIUS.

And let's take a minute to laugh two years from now when they don't sign any other big stars with the money they saved.

Loyalty is long gone in this league and hopefully after this, and KD, players start realizing this. You know riley is too much of a genius not to have a big three by 2018.

Or too much of a snake to stick around that long after his team starts collapsing
