Mets with the 3 run walk off HR in front of about 7,000 home fans in a playoff race
If you saw that game it felt like it was over in the 9th. Then again it felt like it was over in the 11th. Not surprising a lot of people left.

Did we not just go over this?

Their win percentages are nearly identical when you remove the outlier of Houston (outlier of games played -- Boston has beaten on them just as much (Boston scores 1.324x more than Houston when playing them, Texas scores 1.314x more than Houston when playing them) and including Houston skews the data in favor of Texas to make it seem not as close)

Texas is no more dominant against good teams than Boston is, and knowing how they are the hottest team in baseball they should be considered #1

I said I believed we would. And aside for being off by 1 count, i forgot about Detroit // I literally spent 12 seconds looking at a schedule when saying that before

Sox are at 89 wins right now, with 9 to play. Houston is at 81 wins with 9 to play so a Sox win or HOU loss today means Boston will be ahead of them (again off by 1ct there) but factoring Detroit, they have 82w with 10 to play.

So any combination of the following clinches it:
BOS +4
BOS +3 & DET -1
BOS +2 & DET -2
BOS +1 & DET -3
BOS +0 & HOU -1 & DET -4

Sorry for the confusion, I guess...

Why does attendance matter?
It doesn't per say. It's just concerning to me as a baseball fan that these teams in the thick of the playoff race are struggling to attract fans. Especially those in big cities like Seattle and New York. There is a just over a week left in the season, I would think attendance would be high

I know you are
One of my favorite things in life is when people say things they're absolutely sure of and then are just dead wrong haha. It's nothing against you personally.

Like the other day when you were anti KAT ever becoming a 40% shooter from three, and then when we told you Luis Scola did it this year, you immediately changed the subject. I live for that!!!

Nor did I once say I was absolutely sure about it. I even said "I'm pretty sure" which == "I believe that"

You know me. I almost always provide data when I try to make a point (whether the data is relevant is another story). It wasn't me saying "this is 100% true!!!", because it was me just glancing at the standings

And it doesn't even matter because the way Boston is playing they'll have the division by Wednesday

Averaging 34k fans this year, 9th in mlb. We're not struggling to attract fans, fans left early because we gave up 2 in the 9th.

Total attendance last night was 35,759, best weeknight # for the Mets since July 29th. Although I do wish it was closed to 40k.

And yet you are still dead wrong.  Texas is like 30 games better against the good teams.  Ya know the teams that are playing above .500.  Take all the rest of the teams with winning records against said competition and they are a collective 47 games over.  That's how good Texas is against the best.
