Boston didn't insure Pablo's contract either. Might very well be the worst deal in MLB history, barring any miraculous return with better defense and a consistent bat. Very irritating to think about shit like this as these deals are what killed the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry that used to be so good. Making a big signing each season was part of the game but then both teams starting shelling out ridiculous deals in knee-jerk reactions to team deficiencies. 
 
The best players truly are homegrown and farm boy fresh.
