Celtics shouldn't be going all in to win the title now with the Warriors being one of the best teams of all time and looking like they'll be set for the next 4 years or so, Celts should be setting themselves up for the title window after the Warriors has started to close. Keeping the Brooklyn picks helps that timeline

Warriors could easily win 4. All depends on how well they manage the roster outside of Klay, Steph, KD and Draymond because that will get tough. Maxing IT for 3 years wouldn't be terrible, it would allow them to continue to compete while their future develops, but it would be nice to keep their cap flexible incase someone becomes available

You have to look at it from ITs perspective . You think he will wanna have young inexperienced guys around him in the prime of his career? Im sure he wants to win now and Ainge needs to make that happen or scratch the entire thing and start retooling , meaning trade the top guys(IT/Horford/Bradley) and develop the future assets that theyll get

At some point you have to cash in on the "assets" and make runs at the ship

Then IT can go elsewhere, he's not good enough that Boston can't afford to lose him. Keep these assets to acquire younger talent that will help them in 3-4 years, not now

That Rozier disease is not only contagious, it apparently messes with the mind to make those who have it want to keep it.

we already went over this in the other thread

Orlando wanted a 2017 1st for Serge. Boston only has Brooklyn's this year

The Celtics are hesitant to move Rozier, but he's not the reason Ibaka wasn't traded to the Celtics, in a long shot

Raptors need to step it up defensively. I hope Ibaka can help that tremendously... it's crazy how good the Raptors used to be on the defensive end and now it's just not even close. And I still think we can use another veteran big on the bench other than Ibaka.

We'll see how it goes.

Why the fuck do you need to look at it from Isaiah's perspective? He's not the GM, he doesn't have a NTC...

Sure, he wants to win now. Every player in the league I would hope wants to win now. That doesn't mean all personnel decisions are influenced by him.

There is no need to "start retooling" and trading away Thomas and Horford. We're currently the 2nd seed in the East, with Brooklyn feeding us picks for the next two years. Boston can afford to be really good this year, and still be on the path of a re-tool for post-GSW timeline.

You'd give up the 1st for Paul George, but not Jimmy?

I misread George's contract -- I think I was looking at some else's

I would not trade the pick for George right now either

I believe both George and Butler are under the old max.  You're not going to get a star player on a better deal than those two.

Danny Ainge has infected the entire Boston fan base. It's like they're all doing his bidding in terms of trying to drive up value.
