[Wright] Thibodeau on Kawhi: "When you are as dominant as he is defensively, to me he is the defensive player of the year candidate. He is always on top every year. He is disruptive, and the demeanor that he plays with gives their team a lot of poise."

Only way I'm joining a sim league again is if cc is running it and we have at least 10 OGs up in that bitch.

Interesting
I just learned through the Globe of the ASG voting tally procedure

This year, the fan vote only counts for 50% of the vote. Media accounts for 25%, and the players count for the final 25%. But what is interesting, is that the numerical differences don't really matter.

For each category (fan, media, player) it is ranked from 1 through whatever, and those numbers are added together, and divided by 4. The players with the lowest scores are the starters

So for the East backcourt, the fanvote is currently Kyrie at 971K, followed by Wade at 514K, Derozan 453K, and Isaiah 401K. Lowry is 5th with 256K.

But despite Kyrie having more than Wade and Demar combined, he doesn't get that huge of an advantage. He's listed at 2, while Wade 4, Demar 6, Isaiah 8, and Lowry 10.

Now according to a strawpoll from the Globe that featured 1/4 of the Media voters, Isaiah led with 17/25, followed by Demar 14/25, Lowry 10/25, Wall with 5/25, and Kyrie with 4/25. Obviously this is just a sample, nor is it official, but based on this, Isaiah would get a 1, Demar 2, Lowry 3, Wall 4, Kyrie 5.

So based on Fanvote+media sample, Kyrie is at 7, Derozan 8, Isaiah 9, Wall 18 (7th in fanvote). Idk how they'd value someone with no media votes -- maybe put an arbitrary value to them, or just eliminate them, but I'm pretty sure this means Wade nor Zaza will start.

Should be really interesting to see who gets the starting nod. Obviously the fan vote helps some like Kyrie, but I think it overstates guys like Zaza who will not get the other 50% of the vote to get the starting nod

Butler is a forward, not a guard.

My guess for how it ultimately unfolds

Irving / DeRozan / Butler / Antentokoumpo / James
Westbrook / Harden / Leonard / Durant / Davis

with the closest races being the two East guard spots of Irving /  Thomas / DeRozan all being really close to one another, and Curry/Westbrook for the 2nd guard spot

The forward are locked imo

Derozan for sure had a great start to the season right out the gate but he slowed down and so did his team while ITs game has been ridiculous and the team is getting better

I value ITs situation more, bostons on the come up, about to snag the second seed , gotta vote IT ppl

I have no problem with Demar starting. Dude was straight up filthy against us

Isaiah should start over Kyrie, but its also an exhibition basketball game and there is almost no chance Isaiah doesn't make it anyways, so its really not a big deal
