I met a group of NZ people last week who told me they were going to the game on monday to see steve adams play (I brought him up when i learned they were from there of course)

Game 6 was in Cleveland -- it was understandable they lost that one on the road. and by Game 7 the cavs had all the momentum

Warriors were rolling after Gm4, and then Dray got suspended which forced new lineups out there for GS, which led to Boguts injury when he normally was out of the game in the normal rotation at that time. With Dray it goes 5

Momentum only kind of exists in very short spurts in individual games.  
 
The idea of momentum carrying over the course of several games is ridiculous, and one of my sports pet peeves.
