Eric Gordon is as bad in real life as he is in 2K

But he's in great shape and should thrive in Gentry's system!

Kent Bazemore started and scored 0 points. Clearly still an 8th man

I just want to re-iterate this now, so Nola doesn't think I'm just saying it because I hate the Pels

I always thought hiring Gentry was fucking stupid. He only got hired because he was on the Warriors staff last year and they did well. GS did well because of their talent, hence why a Luke Walton coached team just destroyed New Orleans. Gentry is not a good coach

Let's hold off on closing the book on Gentry after a game where he had to play Nate Robinson and Kendrick Perkins significant minutes against a historically great team due to injuries.

Hasn't the guy been to at least 4 finals, with Boston and OKC as well?

I thought it was a bad hire from Day 1

Or one season probably isn't enough to make a defintive statement about the quality of the hire

one year is enough but not when the roster is still being built upon.

Gentry was hired because of what he can do offensively, if he was a defensive coach he wouldn't have been hired. He was hired because it's infinitely easier to hire an elite defensive assistant than an elite offensive assistant, there just aren't as many. I've said from day one looking at it as Gentry alone is something for the casual fans, smart fans know the staff is what is important. I also said before the hire that going from Monty to whoever wouldn't be the biggest improvement the team makes, but the assistants would be, particularly Ayers to new lead assistant, who ended up being Erman. Gentry may be a B or C alone, but his staff is an A and then some.
