Evidently, Anthony Davis can't win basketball games by himself.

I think he could if he had legitimate NBA players around him, but when you are giving 91 minutes to guys that shouldn't get off the bench (and two who shouldn't even be on the roster) then yeah, it will be a struggle.

I don't know if praising is the right word, but I definitely thought it was a good signing. But that's because he would have played a certain (particularly small) role that he isn't playing right now because of injuries.

Good teams have role players who can step up when called upon

That is true, but sadly those guys are also out for the Pelicans. I have talked about it before, you say well this guy is down so he is back up needs to step up and be ready to play. But then you take notice that the backup is also out injured so now you are relying on third stringers because you are decimated by injuries.

They are missing a whole hell of a lot more than just one starter. I would say you have 144 minutes to give out between the point guard spot and the two wing positions, the Pelicans are missing anywhere from 63% to 78% of those minutes on any given night due to injuries and restrictions.

And that's not including your two centers who are vital defensively who missed the majority of camp and preseason and are still working on getting into basketball shape and learning the new offensive and defensive systems that were implemented with them on the shelf.

Maybe we shouldn't worry about kd leaving and should focus on russell leaving
