ASG coaches is interesting

Cavs and Warriors had the top seeds last year, so Blatt and Kerr can't coach this year.

But I think Luke would've been ok and will Tyronne Lue now coach? Lol
so far rumors says luke wont coach but lue will

NBA Trade Rumors: Kevin Love To Detroit Pistons Would Be Great Fit According To Zach Lowe
s

In the latest podcast from famed hoops writer Zach Lowe, he suggested an interesting trade involving Kevin Love.

Lowe used to write for Grantland but after the website was shut down,  he went back to ESPN where he aired his The Lowe Post podcast.

In his discussion with NBA Insider David Thorpe, he suggested that Kevin Love might be traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers. While it might be an overreaction to the beating the Golden State Warriors handed them, but he suggested that Love could net them assets to counter the Golden State Warriors.

The players going in exchange for Kevin Love are Eryan Ilyasova, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the Pistons 2016 first round pick (unprotected).

The details of the trade mentioned were integrated in this Reddit post, as well the ESPN trade machine approval. It should also involve the Portland, because the Cavs are already way over the cap.

Thorpe mentioned that it was a great trade for both teams. Combining Kevin Love with Andre Drummond would make them "Orlando Magic North" as he was alluding to the Magic team that went to the NBA Finals in 2009.

That team was also coached by Stan Van Gundy and the main pillar was Dwight Howard, back when he was still a beast at the paint and a perennial Defensive of the Player candidate (and multiple awardee).

Drummond may not be as dominating as Howard then, but Reggie Jackson and Kevin Love would be much better than Jameer Nelson and Ryan Anderson. Love and Drummond would arguably be the best frontcourt combo in the league and the Pistons would be the greatest threat to the Cavs, which is probably why they would hesitate to trade Love to a Conference rival.

However, one important point is that Thorpe mentioned Caldwell-Pope as the player who can guard Stephen Curry. Now that's something LeBron James would like to have.

He is two years removed from averaging 26/12, and would instantly be the Pistons best offensive player. They would literally restructure their entire offense around him.

we wouldnt have a starting shooting guard. while im not a huge fan of KCP hes our best defender. love is also extremely overrated and put up inflated stats on that wolves team where he was option 1-2-3.

Tyron Lue said he wants to get Love in more spots where hes comfortable. Im guessing more plays setting him up in the paint.

Trading Kevin Love for a deal centered around a SG with a career 3PT% of 33%. How could the Cavs turn that down?

hes been in the league three years and without checking shumps stats, id say kcp is better than him offensively anyways. hes streaky but he does have more good games, than bad.

im not saying the cavs would accept this though.

I don't even like Shumpert. If you can't space the floor as a guard, you better be able to get to the rim whenever you want. Neither of those guys can do that. The Cavs two best players need room to operate, which is why Kevin Love is so important, even when he's not necessarily playing well. It's evident in the tweet I posted a few minutes ago with how poorly LeBron shoots with him out of the game, because the lane is clogged.

They are the 8th seed with two "elite" players, an all-star caliber player in Dragic, and a big man putting up monster numbers who is gonna get the max this off-season, and a coach everyone hails as being good. What's the problem with this team? Just bored?

A 3 game winning streak and theyre in 3rd

And why are we talking about their cast? Obviously lebron would have them in first again

Take him off the cavs they're probably 9th or 10th

its Simmons like, in the sense that it only holds value to Detroit and is literally pointless for Cleveland.

Yes, KCP is the 2nd most valuable piece on Detroit. He's good, but nowhere near good enough. He'd be the #3 SG most likely, and that's not worth giving your 20+ potential scorer away
