their fit offensively helps more than it hurts defensively. it's not a 100% ideal pairing but those two on offense open up a lot more for the whole team.

In their starting 5 (with monroe), they have 1 reliable shooter. Thats jrue, who isn't even a great shooter, but Gordon is super inconsistent, and dont get me CC started on Tyreke Evans
 
 
If they had competent wing shooters, like the Grizzlies do (Lee, VC, Conley), it works. But they don't, which is why its pointless to add another inside guy. They should move Evans for someone who can shoot the ball well
