The Pistons and Aron Baynes have a deal on what will be a three-year contract with a player option after year two, reports Marc Stein of ESPN.com (Twitter links). It could be worth as much as $20MM, Stein adds.

and thats our offseason folks. re-sign reggie and possibly drummond.

Wow Bullock Marcus Morris and Danny G
to clarify

marcus morris, danny granger, reggie bullock for a detroit 2020 second round pick.

stan clearly sucks at free agency, prefers trades, and just helped the suns land aldridge.

he has a felony assault charge hes dealing with. not cool.

his contract isnt bad. id assume stanley is our starter though. that worries me. we still look like a lottery team in my eyes.

im overreacting a bit but stan kind of sucks as a gm. his contracts have all been head turners and he seems to refuse to try and make a big signing. at least we dont hear about him trying to make a big signing but that's usually a sign offers didnt suffice.

trading for retreads only goes so far.

Rob I understand why you're critical but idk what else Stan could've done differently to this point.
I suppose outbidding San Antonio for Green would be our only option to do some thing differently. Carroll was gonna come here next but Toronto blew him away with their offer.
Other than that, what were our free agent options?

Also the only head turning contract he's given out was Meeks. But I think with a full year of being healthy he should look much better.
This move isn't exciting or anything, but it's certainly solid. I think every move Stan has made thus far has been solid as a GM. He's not making moves for the sake of making them ala Joe Dumars.

Let me add though, if that is our only off-season move than I will be quite disappointed.
Marcus is a fine player, not a difference maker though.

like i said, we didnt hear anything about his offers until after or not at all, meaning they probably werent good enough anyways. i wasn't a huge fan of bringing in carroll anyways. wasnt even sold of tobias but really wanted to see us try.

trading for retreads will only go so far. id rather roll the dice on a free agent. thats it. i like the baynes signing but its an overpay, slightly, but still an overpay
