Free agent third baseman Chase Headley has reportedly received a four-year offer in the range of $65 million, though it's unclear from which team, according to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported earlier Thursday that the Miami Marlins have reached out to Headley and may be ready to make a significant offer.

It just bugs me that the front office has the pieces of a contender in home and just let's it go for no reason. We have the money to pay these guys and choose not to.

Just because you overachieve, it doesn't mean you don't have the pieces to compete...

They've won 278 games over the last 3 years. That's not overachieving, that's sustaining success.

Thank you.

Did I say they were going to win? Did I say they were better than the other teams? I said they had pieces to compete. They were, and still are, clearly not built to make a run at a World Series.

I think we're in agreement here and just are getting caught up by wording. By contending/competing, I mean for a World Series.

And dan, they made you look bad in the playoff predictions haha how are you still loyal!!

I've been more wrong before. Pretty sure the Royals and Giants made everyone's prediction's look bad. They took the Royals to extra innings, could have been them.

And to think that's the guy they felt was worth it to give up on Trevor Bauer at the age of 22. I ain't complaining though

Sources: Markakis leaning toward surgery to repair bulging disc in neck. Recovery time up to 12 weeks. #Braves knew of possibility.
