I like it. It's not the sexiest signing ever, but let's be real here, who really wants to sign in Toronto? It had to be done to fill a void that the Jays desperately need.

In the past two years, something has obviously changed his delivery.

Increased velo, sub 4 xfip and his walk rates have dropped. He's as low risk as it gets.
Given the contract he got, it's possible to be MUCH more low risk than that haha

It's only for 3 years though, plus with the way pitchers are getting paid nowadays, this is chump change.

180 innings of 4.00 era ball isn't too much to ask with happ.

If it wasn't for his HR/9 numbers, I thought Fister was a guy the Jays should go for. Would match a risk similar to Happ, with a higher ceiling.

Somewhat acurate representation of his value as a player

I'm pretty cool with taking a flier on him and hoping he can get back to 30 homers. Can play a bunch of positions.

Sad thing is, he's the guy that the O's are replacing Crush with probably

On that note, the value of the Indians pitchers who are locked in for 3-5 years just sky rocketed with these enormous contracts. This team might be able to acquire an impact bat for the first time since Roberto Alomar

On the other, clubhouse, bochy

Advantage Dodgers, but im very nervous

When I see teams actually going after big name free agents, I'm like gross

The Indians payroll right now is 86 million, which is the highest opening day payroll they'll have since 2001.

What about the offseason where they went out and signed swisher, bourn, Reynolds, etc

That happened right? I'm not just making that up in my mind right

Swisher and Bourn got about 14 mill per, which accounted for about 30-33% of the payrolll
