Keenan Lewis has spent only two days on a New Orleans Saints practice field with first-round draft pick Brandin Cooks and already has a nickname for the speedy receiver.

"I called him 'lightning,'" Lewis said Friday. "A (defensive back) might be in his back pocket and the next thing you know he's 50, 60 yards down the field."

That's pretty much what happened on one play during an OTA practice Thursday.

Cooks took a handoff on a reverse around the left end and raced down the sideline. With Lewis giving chase, Cooks appeared to pull up for a few strides to playfully let his pursuer near him. Then Cooks sprinted away from Lewis and to the end zone.

I gotta say, the Jags are handling Bortles perfectly if they do in fact let him sit like they say they will. It's the right way to tap his potential. If I knew he'd end up in a situation like this he'd have been a bit higher on my QB list. I didn't think he'd get a chance like this. I hope it works out for him.
 
Still don't think he'll ever be elite though. Or worthy of a top 3 choice.

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News passes along word that McCoy spent all of Monday referring to rookie quarterback Matt Barkley as Mark. It wasn’t some kind of rookie hazing. I like those too Bosox. I actually like the numbers, as well. Just not sure about the "pewter" (lets face it, it's brown now). The jersey does look good with the white pants too. The Brown pants are bad though.
 
I think it would look a lot nicer if just the sleeve was brown, rather than the shoulder too.
