Regardless of what someone thinks of his long term sustainability, you're going to lose your team if you bench him after one bad half.

He's managing games. You said yourself he's missed plenty of throws.

He's managed some games, but you're doing more than managing when you're consistently hitting plays down field, which he has. 
 
Again, I don't see him as the long term answer, but he doesn't deserve to be benched right now. He's played well against some good teams.
