That would never happen
Some credible people seem to think so.. It'd be a little absurd if Gordon's suspension was upheld if they passed a new agreement only a week after his ruling came down, considering he would have passed the new marijuana threshold with flying colors.

This is the NFL and Roger Goodell we are talking about. If it was anyone else maybe they would have a point, but with Goodell it has no shot.

Btw, if it was only a week after Goodell was well aware of this agreement, yet he still handed down that suspension.

The arbitrator decided Gordon's appeal wasn't enough, and he was suspended per the CBA, not Goodell.

And I am so sick of the Wilson hype. He did not deserve a game ball. He is the definition of a game manager QB. Put him on a team like the Patriots or even the Packers where he has to rely on accuracy and downfield playmaking instead of relying on the running game and play fakes and he would be so shitty. He has a great o-line, a tremendous running game, fast receivers, and an elite defense. All he has to do is hand off to Lynch and make the occasional throw to a receiver that is wide open because too many defenders are in the box, or make a play fake and run the ball himself. Easy. I give him credit for not throwing a lot of INTs but there were plays tonight that could have ended in an INT for him but didn't. There's gonna be a game or a stretch of games where he'll be exposed, sooner or later. God forbid anything happens to Lynch too, or he's screwed.

That's actually happened already. He was remarkably mediocre for the second half of last season, and through the playoffs.

I have only seen one Super Bowl where the QB had less to do with the team's win, and that was Big Ben's first Super Bowl.

Russell Wilson has a lot of potential, and some historically great statistics, but the eye test does not consistently warrant the hype.

There was an arbitrator for a reason, and if I had to guess (this wouldn't be publicly disclosed) that arbitrator was appointed by Goodell. And even then, should Ray Rice see an increase in his suspension because new rules were announced right after his punishment was handed out? That won't happen either.

"The fantasy football 2014 season is here and some different type of sleepers this year include Rob Gronkowski, Arian Foster, Jamaal Charles, Doug Martin, Julio Jones, Steven Jackson, Ben Tate, Wes Welker, Dwayne Allen, Hakeem Nicks, Trent Richardson and Darren Sproles, as those players are all coming off of injuries or other issues and could be sleeper picks if owners let them fall in drafts and they potentially could help win a FF league this year."

How the hell is a #2 pick in most drafts a "sleeper"? Lmao.

Mike Florio:
At a time when the NFLPA could be facing pressure from players who would benefit, directly or indirectly, from the lifting of suspensions arising from a new drug policy, it turns out that the NFLPA previously has resisted the notion of agreeing to a deal that affects all players simply to help a few of them.

Per a league source, the NFL broached the idea of wiping out Browns receiver Josh Gordon’s one-season suspension while his appeal was pending, in exchange for a final agreement on HGH testing. By raising the permissible level of marijuana metabolites from 15 ng/ml to the Olympic standard of 150 ng/ml under a new drug policy, Gordon’s most recent positive test actually would have been a negative.

But the NFLPA resisted then, just as it’s apparently resisting now. While the NFL surely hopes that the potential elimination of suspensions will prompt calls to the NFLPA from players and the teammates who want them to be available to play, the union seems disinclined to agree to a policy that doesn’t work as well as it could or should for all players.

As to HGH, the players believe that Commissioner Roger Goodell should be willing to sacrifice final say over violations arising from something other than a positive test. The logic is simple; if his decision is fair, a third-party arbitrator will agree.

The issue seems to be big enough to prevent the players and the league from agreeing to adopt a new drug policy swiftly. The league likely assumes the union will bend to help specific players. The union apparently won’t. If the league acknowledges that, maybe the two sides can find a way to work this thing out.

just give everyone a clean slate. If someone fucks up again then they deserve a longer suspension.

Obviously they're not going to compromise the entire league for Josh Gordon & Wes Welker, but that doesn't mean they won't clear those suspension or reduce them still. Was a nice try by the NFL though

I started Julio/Crabtree/Shorts over Cobb, because Cobb was only projected 6pts.

Cobb put up 12, and now Shorts (who was a proj. 15pts) was confirmed out for the game.

Who do I go with now? Steve Smith vs CIN, Sammy Watkins @ CHI, or Allen Robinson (who I just picked up because he's starting instead of Shorts now) @ PHI?
