He did fumble though (as did Locker and Whitehurst too lol). I didn't see it though so I won't comment.

But apparently on back to back plays he had a 26 yard completion and then a 38 yarder, both perfect throws. Can't wait to see them.

Citing a Browns source, ESPN's Bob Holtzman reported that Manziel has overtaken the sixth-year pro in the battle for the starting job after his promising performance in Saturday night's 13-12 loss to the Lions.

A source told cleveland.com that Manziel has the momentum and that the superior talent. They've also been pleased with his leadership and progress since the beginning of camp. If he plays well in Washington on Monday Night Football Aug. 18, he'll be very much in the conversation for that week one start in Pittsburgh.

I happen to get the local channels for the Seahawks/Chargers and Raiders/Lions games, and NFL Network has the Pats/Eagles game. The only other game on the night, the Titans/Saints isn't aired :(

You could pay the NFL.com price to watch it.

That thing has been a joke. Purchased it Wednesday night so I could watch the Bengals games.... Went to get it going Thursday and it wouldn't even work, all kinds of website/server issues. Missed the starters play, I wasn't happy.

Can't believe I'm sitting here watching a week two preseason game that involves the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Most of you are as well.  We're all addicts.

Bortles looks good again. I can't believe he didn't have a QB coach at UCF. No wonder he had/has issues with mechanics.

Totally agree with Matt Miller on this one:

Miller nails it again:

That's exactly why I didn't rate him near the top of the class. Often times it can't be fixed, ala Jake Locker etc. But man has he ever fixed it. Hopefully cleaning up his feet will fix his deep ball too where he airs it out, because that was a major weakness, and something he hasn't throw in the NFL yet.

We still obviously do need to see him against NFL starters and defenses game planned for him too before we can really know much.

Is David Fales really the Bears' 4th string QB? sigh

I'm sure the Bears will only keep one of Clausen/Palmer and keep Fales to develop. No sense in having two veteran backup QB's.

Hoyer starting on Monday. Makes no sense. Not even giving Manziel a shot to win the job.

Or they're giving Hoyer a chance to prove he is a starting QB as well..

Why not give the chance to, you know, the guy you drafted in the 1st round? Hoyer had a good start and an average start last year, nothing earth shattering. Jason Campbell had good starts last year too. Certainly didn't do enough to warrant getting such a big lead to start off in the QB "competition".

Hoyer's a nice back up to have behind a QB who might get banged up more than your normal QB because of his play style, so in that respect, he's nice to have.
