Idk how he hasnt already won it. Coaches these days need to grow some balls. Never go for it on 4th, cant choose to name a guy a starter, someone who has outplayed anyone else for that spot.

I'd be the first team lining up to get RG3 on a discount deal.

And it shouldnt. Too much business and not enough sport.

I'm mainly talking about going for it on 4th down.  That shit just wouldn't be practical most of the time.

It always seems like a given that a team is going to get a first down when trying on 4th down. Maybe it's because the Browns always field terrible defenses.

However, I'd like to see how it works if a good/great team went for it all the time. Chud did it a lot last year with a bad team and was decently successful at it, but he did have nothing to lose (other than his job) so it's easier to justify.

If its 4th and 3 or less why not? As long as your defense isnt atrocious. Niggas out here passin for like 5000 yards and they cant get 3 when they need it.

I'd reckon that the success rate of 4th and 3 isn't very high, and if you're on your own side of the field the other team is almost guaranteed to score if you miss it.

I agree with what rawky is saying. There are cases when it makes sense for field position, but teams should be more aggressive, especially with rules that benefit offense

If Whitehurst starts this week for the Titans I'm gonna start a revolution. He's nothing but a game day backup. Get Mett prepared and put him in, coach!

Jake Locker finished with a -7.2 according to PFF. The worst of his career. Lol at all the Titans fans telling me how much Locker was going to improve with Whiz.

I'v been saying for a long time that Locker and Tannehill aren't NFL QB's, and they may have good games, but will always revert to their mistakeful (is that a word?), inefficient ways.

Going for it near midfield is silly unless you need to score or you're playing a completely inferior opponent that you want to put away. In games between good teams, ALWAYS choose to play the field position game. If you fail to convert a first down, you're likely to trap yourself against your endzone unless the other team scores. Lose-lose situation. Punt the damn ball.

Okay, someone explain this to me.

The argument of RG3 vs Cousins is RG3 has more upside. But isn't the point of the upside to be able to get him to be able to throw for 427 yards and 3 TDs? I understand the running ability. I understand the big arm. But how are those attributes more important than results? How do those attributes make reaching those results more impressive?

EDIT
I want to add the well documented injury history as well, that should be a huge factor as well. What good is upside if he's always hurt, due to said upside.

I really don't understand why as a DC you would fix something that isn't broken.

Last season Akiem Hicks dropped the quarterback 4.5 times and was a stellar run defender. He played a ton of end last season.

Though this season he's shifted inside and is pretty much exclusively staying there, and he isn't having near the impact. He's not getting to the QB and he hasn't been the run stuffer he was last season.

Yeah, Locker was awful in that game.
