Jordan Lynch got cut by the Bears today.  Lions should grab him.  He can't be any worse than Dan Orlovsky.

"On Ross Tucker's podcast today Ross mentioned to Cosell that he had received a text from a Titans player on Mettenberger. That text said that Mettenberger is the real deal and that he was going to be the starter at some point. We can speculate on who said that, but that's huge."

Saw this on a Titans forum. Love to hear this. He's won over the team already, not surprised. I'm telling yall, the guys a stud.

I think it's hilarious and gratifying when something manifests that fans saw coming but NFL teams didn't agree with in their weird, intricate ways.  Most of us fans KNEW Mettenberger was the real deal, that he could ball and his draft stock was way too low.  I'd bet he will be good, and it's always nice when the fans get an "I told you so".

Agreed. Most of us here were Mett fans.

To be fair, there were a number of draft "analysts" (not the stupid ESPN guys either) who are quite well known that had a 5th-6th round grade on him too for some reason. I guess they were influenced by their NFL sources or something.

or you guys are over reacting to preseason play. Nothing like regular season. Lions looked great in the preseason when they went 0-16 so don't base much off preseason.

We are talking about individual player performance and you are talking about something that is not that.

Still only preseason. I don't put much stock into it. If he does it in the regular season I'd be more impressed. Teams don't study the teams as much during the preseason and that is a fact. He might be the real deal but I'm not sure.

And Russell Wilson tore up the preseason and is a SB QB.

You can take it to either extreme.

Plus, we really aren't basing it off pre-season at all. We were basing the hype off his LSU tape, Greg Cossel saying he's the best rookie QB, and Titans players saying he's going to be the starter one day, presumably based off practice, demeanor and work ethic. We didn't mention his pre-season play at all.

I agree with you though, he needs to do it in the regular season. But if you can't do it in the preseason, you can't do it when it counts. So far, so good.

The same can be said for a number of rookie QB's this year. I said it pre-draft many time: this class is loaded. It's (looking) like the anti-2011 class.

He also had Jarvis and Odell though, and trust me they pulled him out of a lot of situations. That tape wouldn't have been nearly as good if it weren't for them too. Just from what I saw of him while he was here I'd temper my expectations a bit. I think he will be good, but he will always be that it's in the back of your head that he's replaceable.

He helped them just as much as they helped him. Those throws had to be perfect to allow them to make those great catches. One couldn't have happened without the other in most of those cases they "bailed him out". He put the ball in the perfect spot for the WR's to make a play, and where the DB couldn't. That's what lots of people can't see. That's what it takes to be an NFL QB. WR's aren't going to be open, you throw them open/put it where they can get it.

How did you get Forte and Lacy? Is your league very small?

Also you should drop Sankey.
