Talking about the Pacers, they don't have any isolation players, any dynamic PnR players, any great catch and shoot players off the baseline, or a guy they can go to in the post that demands a double team which in turn opens up the 3pt line. I've never seen a team that doesn't have any of that, but sticks to one players hand for so long. The ball is in one players hands for an incredible amount of time it seems. And if you have an over dribbling problem the guy you should definitely make a move for is Evan Turner, and just compound that even more by getting another over dribbler. How anyone ever thought adding Turner to the mix would help is beyond me.
Also, if they aren't involved in the play, Paul George and Lance Stephenson will stand like 18 ft from the rim killing the spacing. I think there are three effective ways to help your team offensively. Those are how well you pass it, how well you set screens, and how well you space the screen. They don't do any of that. I can remember when David West was a Hornet how much it annoyed me that he was such a poor screener. Everyone just wants to slip screens now. That's why the Spurs are so good. They pass the ball better than anyone, they set screens better than anyone, and they space the floor as well as anyone.
