Seriously, Portland. What was the fucking point of playing out of your minds in one series only to get shitcanned in the next?

Depends. Houston's a matchup nightmare for San Antonio. So it's a situational thing.

But yes, as an opponent for the Blazers, the Spurs are a better team. As an opponent for the Spurs, the Rockets are a better team.

Make sense? Houston/SA would be a significantly better series.

As would Toronto/Miami. The fucking Nets are a joke.

I like that bware still thinks the Blazers played out of their minds when they actually didn't play as well as they usually do

If you don't think Portland was playing incredibly well in that first round series, I don't know what to tell you. Damian Lillard was cold blooded the entire time, and was carrying them.

I've had enough of the condescension based on numbers. Numbers can lie. The Blazers are not as good as they played in round 1, because they can't play like that night in and night out. End of fucking story.

Well no team can, hence why the best teams in the NBA lose 20+ games a year...

And I don't see how Toronto would be a better matchup for Miami. They'd be down 2-0 right now just the same.

Well, the way he's acting it's like he thinks there was some drastic distance between the two teams. They're damn close. Portland played better than they normally do in every game except game 5.

And I think Toronto's youth would have better suited them to actually being in the game with Miami. Brooklyn looks gassed to me, which has a lot to do with their age.

The Brookyln Nets are the Ancient History Museum of the NBA.

I agree with Rawky, though. Houston really shit the bed, in that series. Without question. They were outplayed and, more importantly, severely outcoached. McHale has to go.

No matter how old the Nets are, they're better than the Raptors. That much was proven.

As far as the Blazers go, if your sample size is six games and you're saying they played better than they are in five of them, it's more likely that they're just better than you think they are/were.

Same exact total points scored over 11 (!) games played this year. If there are two evenly matched teams it's those two

CC, just cause a team wins a series it doesnt make them the better team

Both houston and toronto could have easily won with a few bounces, doesnt make them all of a sudden better

I don't really think it's possible for two teams to be perfectly even. Something HAS to separate them. There might be a couple instances in history but usually the better team wins the series, or at least the better team in that moment. Like you'll probably point to GS/DAL in '07: I don't remember that series play for play but I remember the Warriors outplaying the Mavericks for a lot of that series.

You can't blame a series on "bounces". The Nets outplayed the Raptors in 4 games and you really could argue 5.

All that was proven in the Nets/Raptors series is that blatant superstar calls often decide a series between teams that are fairly even.

Lmao right because the Nets didn't go into Toronto and blatantly outplay them on their home court in Game 7

Houston was about a million bounces away from that series having a different outcome.

Portland played the way they did, whether you want to believe they played over their heads or not, but Houston allowed them too.
