Did I miss something?It's documented because he's viewed as a superstar, but his defense is literally non-existent. If he was viewed in the right light, it wouldn't be a big deal.

No one says hes a good defender. Its one thing if he made a all defense team like kobe did a few years ago, or jeter winning a good glove

I've always said you can't just group defense into term. It's way too broad.

You have on ball (iso's, ball screens, etc), you have off ball (roll man, off screens, spot ups, etc), etc.

If we're talking about last season, when Kobe was healthy, I would say he was a neutral defender. Solid on ball, slightly below average off ball. Harden is without a doubt a minus defender. He's poor against ball screens, displays poor footwork, poor awareness, and most importantly his effort is embarrassing. Once he gets a screen set on him, he's out of the play. His isolation defense is more of the same. His off ball defense is everything I mentioned above, and more. It's a lot worse. Think about all the gif's we see, the majority come off the ball.

Honestly, as long as I've been watching the game, I can't think of one "star" or "superstar" that's been so bad defensively. He's more than awful. That's the difference.

My God, Robin Lopez gets away with a ton of shit in this series. I know they want to cut him some slack considering who he's matched up with, but Jesus Christ. Dude should have fouled out in every single game so far.
