Kind of sucks that we get three Eastern Conference games tonight.

Pels lineups this year is unreal.

Take OKC for example. They had 1 lineup that played 500+ minutes together (Jackson, Sefolosha, Durant, Ibaka, Perkins), 2 that played 300+ minutes together, and 5 that played 100+ minutes together. Memphis had 1 lineup that played 500+ minutes together (Conley, Lee, Prince, Randolph, Gasol), 4 that played 150+ minutes together. Clippers had 1 lineup that played 325 minutes together, 3 that played 270 minutes together, and 8 that played 120+ minutes together. Golden State had 1 lineup that played 800+ minutes together (Curry, Thompson, Iggy, Lee, Bogut), 2 that played 300+ minutes together, and 5 that played 90+ minutes togther.

The Pels? One lineup that hit 200 minutes, nothing higher than that, and four that played 100+ minutes. Our closing five only played 90 minutes together all season. Like a wasted season.
The pels being talked about in a playoff thread. Whoaaa.

EC playoffs are like the NIT to the NCAA Tourney.

At least Toronto/Brooklyn should be a good game.

Also, does anybody else remember when Garnett said he'd hang it up when he felt he can't play anymore?

Has it EVER been clearer that he can't play anymore? Dude should have just retired. I honestly think he's more of a hindrance then he is help.

Sadly the game is on NBATV though, which I do not get.

Yeah, I'm glad I'm farming right now because we get NBATV. At my apartment in the town my winter job is at, the cable company doesn't even carry NBATV. It's rather frustrating.

I sure hope tonight's Chicago/Washington game isn't so damn boring.

That's the problem I have. If my cable company carried it I would have it, but they don't even carry it.

Donaghy may have bet on games but I firmly believe what he claims about what the league does. This is why I have issues with playoff officiating, in particular.

Not saying they won't be good series, just not as good as WC. I actually enjoyed watching a little of the NIT this year.

Bulls/Wiz would be a good series if it was more tolerable to watch. So boring.

I think we need to remember this time in NBA history as a true indication of superstar power, because the West has a bunch of good teams whereas Miami will likely win the Finals as long as their three superstars remain together. It's really frustrating. I find that good teams beat star players more often at lower levels of basketball, but in the NBA it seems to all revolve around star power.

The way I look at it, and it may not play out this way, but if the Pacers don't magically get it together the Heat could have like a three round bye to the Finals. They aren't the best team in the league, but they could three-peat because of how rested they will be.

Umm, what?

Good teams are good because they have exceptional and in most cases, star players, at any level. Stars DOMINATE high school.

The Spurs have 2 stars, and one who plays at a star like level in limited minutes.

The Thunder have 2 stars

The Clippers have 2 stars

The Rockets have 2 stars

The Blazers have 2 stars

Top 5 teams in the west, record wise. All have multiple stars, which is the main reason for success. They aren't just "good teams", with a bunch of role players.

I took it as him saying most teams have stars, while Miami has three superstars. Which is up for debate, but when you think about those teams you listed cheato. Spurs have Parker and Duncan, but Ginobli, Leonard, Splitter, Green, and Belinelli all come to mind. Thunder have Durant and Westbrook, but I think about Ibaka, Sefolosha, Collison, and Reggie Jackson as well. Clippers with DeAndre, Redick, Crawford, Collison, Big Baby and so on. But the Heat are LeBron, Wade, Bosh and a bunch of much less effective role players.

I honestly hate the term "superstar" because there are so few of them in the league right now.

No, but most of those West teams have better pieces surrounding their stars whereas Miami's extra star power in how much better LeBron is than everybody else carries those lesser pieces around him.

If you have three top 20 players in your respective league of 450+ players, starting in your 5 man lineup at any level, you're probably going to win championships. Just a thought
