But that was pretty clearly off of Jackson. This should be 3-2, LAC. I would hate for the Clippers to win this series, but this was highway robbery, man. Just awful.
Clippers stole Game 4, Thunder stole Game 5. Should the Clippers have won tonight? Probably. But if you asked somebody (me) who watched all five games "who was the better team?", I'd say the Thunder barely.

I would too but that doesn't justify what happened in those final seconds.

And the Clippers took game 4 fair and square. The Thunder handed it to them.

This was a completely different scenario.

That was a very un-Chris Paul like play at the end of the game.

I mean it was an awful call but still play it out.

Clippers get the ball and CP3 iso's, probably misses. Thunder get the ball and either the exact same thing happens or they miss. But you gotta just blame CP3 for costing them that game.

So how about Westbrook's terrible shot? If I was the official who called that foul, I wouldn't have been able to because I would have closed my eyes and shook my head when he pulled up for a contested 27 footer.

So if the NBA wants to retain this replay system, the easiest fix is to allow officials to call whatever happens on the replay.

CP3 gets fouled in round one. Reggie gets fouled tonight. Problem solved.

I never have, and never will understand limiting what officials can call when they make a review. They're watching multiple replays from multiple angles. Why NOT let them make a foul call they missed if that foul caused the OoB play they're reviewing in the first place?

These are faulty systems that have been implemented in multiple sports. I want to see one professional sport stand up for its officials and refuse to limit what they can call on a replay.

I want to see replay gotten rid of all together. It's a faulty system. In theory your idea works but if you say you can replay at any point in the game then we're going to get 50+ replays a game. Even if you limit it to the last two minutes you're going to have far too many replays. Referees are human just like players. If a ref fucks up, so be it. I'd rather have a referee to blame than the entire replay system.

That's just me though. And I think it's fucking up baseball too

yeah, I'd like to see replay gone from basketball, at least. I'd like to ban big screen replays in arenas on foul calls, out of bounds calls, etc. The NBA allows so many things that can put their officials in the headlights. Just get rid of it all, and let them call what they see. They're going to fuck up, but at least the play's over, then. No replays. Nothing, move on.

The amount of pressure is making these officials worse, and it's creating a bunch of individuals who follow their own philosophies. Many of them follow the "Swallow your whistle" ideal at the ends of games. The rest are scared to miss a major calls and end up calling really ticky tack stuff.

I may harp on them, but there are just too many ways to scrutinize them, at this point in time.

Not to mention there's the whole "non-conclusive evidence" type of replay which would put a big wrench into your theory. There's plenty of examples where the a call will "stand" because they don't have enough evidence to overturn it. Considering replay is nowhere near foolproof, you can't have a system that relies so much on it.

Exactly. It's just too hard to do. Let these guys concentrate on what happens when the clock's moving.

He was in Grand Forks this winter (my college town) because his daughter was playing the Summit League tournament. My brother saw him at the Buffalo Wild Wings.

Hearing complaints about the refs
The barnes/jackson call was inconclusive for sure. Clip fans are being salty

Chris Paul was fouled at the end, but stuff happens man
Chris Paul fouled Steph Curry in game 3 and no clipper or clip fan was complaining

How convenient that Bware now believes refs have a hard job and need to be given a break now since the Clippers are the ones who lost.

Never said that they're job wasn't hard. Basketball is without a doubt the most difficult sport to officiate, especially with so many calls that are different for each a official. Basketball has too many vague rules, which is the exact reason that the offensive foul is a different call with each official.

I really would like to see the NBA, at some point, make an effort to make what is or isn't an offensive foul more clear in their rulebook and have their officials start applying the rule as such.
