Serious question. Are Klay Thompson and Kevin Martin really that far off?

Kmart can get to the line

Klay is pretty much a more athletic Kyle korver who gets to shoot more......

Doesn't seem like they're losing much except maybe defensively

Harrison Barnes can provide the perimeter defense instead or Martin

Obviously iggy, but you need a #2 guy as well

Deal would be Klay+Lee+salary for Love+Martin

I may actually venture to say Martin is a better offensive player than Klay is if he doesn't have Curry alongside him.

If you look at what Klay is known for, when Steph is off the court Klay shoots 39.7% from beyond the arc. Still obviously really good, but that does drop about two percentage points from when Steph is on the court. Martin shot 38.7% this season from three.

I've always said, Klay is a good shooter but he's not a great offensive player. He's a below average isolation player (shoots only 30.7% and turns is over 11.1% of the time). He's not great at anything else either, aside from spotting up, but again Curry? But Kevin Martin is a better isolation player (40% shooting and 8% turns), better coming off screens (shot 54% from beyond the arc coming off screens), he's much better cutting without the ball and does it more often. Klay has him as a PnR ball handler but he's not noteworthy doing that either. I'm also interested to see if Martin can regain his passing in a different system.

Biggest problem for both comes defensively, neither are average there. Though I would actually give Martin the edge even though his reputation is that he's a terrible defender. He's a better PnR defender than Klay and doesn't miss as many rotations, which may have to do with experience but still.
