Isaiah Austin has Marfan syndrome.  His basketball career is done.  Sad.

I see that more of an assurance to get the #1 overall via trade, so it doesn't go to Utah/Orlando

Who knows. I've often talked about how drafting for best player available regardless of position in the NBA draft could actually be a pretty smart strategy because of the overturn rosters take on each and every season, and because of the crapshoot the NBA draft is. Historically speaking in picks 2-5 only a little more than half of those guys will never live up to their draft position. The exact number is like 2.3 of the four players drafted between 2 and 5 will be anything more than a solid starter for you. And a solid starter in a top 5 selection is setting the bar pretty low.

If you look back at the last ten drafts these guys went between 2 and 5:

2013: Victor Oladipo, Otto Porter, Cody Zeller, Alex Len
2012: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Bradley Beal, Dion Waiters, Thomas Robinson
2011: Derrick Williams, Enes Kanter, Tristan Thompson, Jonas Valanciunas
2010: Evan Turner, Derrick Favors, Wesley Johnson, DeMarcus Cousins
2009: Hasheem Thabeet, James Harden, Tyreke Evans, Ricky Rubio
2008: Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love
2007: Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Mike Conley, Jeff Green
2006: LaMarcus Aldridge, Adam Morrison, Tyrus Thomas, Sheldon Williams
2005: Marvin Williams, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Raymond Felton
2004: Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Shaun Livingston, Devin Harris

Take a second and really take a look at the names on that list. Really puts things in perspective doesn't it? So if Philly is comfortable with Embiid's health, and they believe he's gapped the rest of the guys that are available on their big board, why not pick him?

Because Exum is closer to Wiggins' tier than Randle/Vonleh/Gordon's, by a lot.

For Orlando, I get it. But not Philly

Exum is being drafted based off of potential alone.  If you were to draft him based off his ability today, I'm not sure how high he would go.

Perhaps Philly feels (again if they are comfortable with his health) that Embiid is more worth the risk than Exum is.

I must be the highest on Exum on this forum. I think that guy has the it factor. He struggled some against the physicality of Marcus Smart last summer but he was 17 years old. He'll definitely have some struggles initially but I would bet on him becoming a star by the time he's around 22-23.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love Exum.

But I honestly think you could legitimately have an argument about who is more raw between he and LaVine and both sides would have an argument.

Who are your top 5 prospects? And where is the Exum & Parker profiles

In no particular order I guess it would be Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, and Vonleh.

Parkers will be posted tomorrow, and I didn't do one for Exum.

If Jabari really did tank his Cleveland workout he may have just became my 3rd favorite prospect in this draft.
