I assumed the battle round was just the 2nd of 3 rounds. That instead of giving out #s to each dunk, it was just a battle as to who would advance, the guy from the east, or the guy from the west.

Arena finally gets into it, and the contest is over. That's the failure right there, too short, mainly because the "contest" didn't name an actual winner. I don't mind the new set up, but there HAS to be an actual winner named.
