NL needs a DH
For the 50th time, losing napoli or papi suuuuuuucks

Plus its bull shit that a team plays an entire year with a DH but in the games that matter most, they lose it

World Series is unfair. True interleague would be AL gets to use DH all times and NL has to use a pitcher, which is stupid so just give us the DH

I've heard a lot of the media talking about this going 7 games, like it's a forgone conclusion. I've never understood that, and I felt it would end in 6. Boston is in a tricky spot now having to try and win in St. Louis. I could see them winning 1 there, but not 2.

I swear man, the Cardinals have a lab where they just cook these pitchers up.

That was pretty bad.

Saving Napoli for the 15th inning I guess.

He ends up taking Workman out anyway, incredible. At least he didn't save Uehara for a save situation that may never happen

If you want to call everything by the direct "letter of the law" then, sure, it's interference. But get out of here with that shit.

Also, fwiw, that call is at the bottom of the totem pole of reasons why the Red Sox lost this game. John Farrell, clearly, is at the top.

Middlebrooks was either trying to do the worm or delay the runner.

I hate cheering for players to get hurt, but Craig deserves it.
Sox blog on SBN is full of class right now.

Runners slide to avoid tags all the time when a fielder tries to impede progress. It's not entirely the same situation, but it was totally possible for Craig not to run into Middlebrooks and avoid this whole thing. He "couldn't" (whether he could or not, I guess, is irrelevant) and the call was made.

Again, I don't blame the loss on that play. Hell, if Saltalamacchia holds on to the ball, that play doesn't happen. That play also doesn't happen if Ross is catching.

While you don't want to see a World Series game ending under that circumstance, I do think it was the right call. It's one of those rules that's kind of a grey area.

I think the lack of grey area is what irks me. For example, as if it was a direct counter-argument to my point, the umps say that the runner determines the baseline. But, in reality, you can't run wherever the hell you want. Also, there's the whole intent doesn't matter thing.

Just an odd way to end the game. Albeit, one the Sox brought entirely on themselves.
