His strikeouts are way up though, so there is a chance it could be sustainable.

His last 6 starts were Baltimore, Kansas City, Chicago, Houston, Chicago, & Minnesota, though.

WHIP is pretty high for someone dominating like him, but his FIP/xFIP are still good.

If I'm the Indians, I let him go, collect the first round pick. Roll with Salazar, Masterson, Kluber, Kazmir and Bauer or McAllister. Or sign a free agent for the 5th spot. Resigning Kazmir is crucial though, I think he'll be even better next year.

Because they can cut ties whenever they want, and send him packing on a jet made of 100 dollar bills?

Ahhh, I'm still excited, even if it's only a one game wildcard. It's been a long time since we've played meaningful baseball, and I've watched post-season play period.

The media is praying for Francona vs Boston

Pirates are going to do a blackout which might look cool

An all yellow crowd would be better though. Its going to be cool seeing PNC for a playoff game

Hopefully they give fans terrible towels or at at least regular yellow towels

I like Ks
as do i, but he's in a pretty weak division, i think he'll be a solid innings eater in the nl.

Technically, all of the Indians starters have been unlucky this year in terms of FIP/xFIP in comparison to ERA (And there ERAs are still really good), aside from Ubaldo. Although we faced a lot of bad teams, this run was more of the season evening itself out.

I may be bias, I may not be, but the Indians rotation could be pretty scary to face in a playoff setting. It's filled with strikeout guys (Ubaldo, Salazar, Kluber, Kazmir & Masterson if they stretch him back out) who have the ability to shut down a lineup completely. Detroit was the only team with a rotation with more strikeouts.

Obviously none of this matters if Alex Cobb dominates us tomorrow, but just saying. The Indians aren't just some team that ran into some luck late. The rotation is really good, the team ranks 5th in the MLB in runs, and they're hot right now.

The amount of Indians apparel around town today is insane. Sure hope they don't disappoint
