Still. Losing to a team that has lost 26 straight? Fuck that. I could probably even argue that it wouldn't be forgotten next season. That's the kind of loss that stays with a player for a long time. But this is a fan, and I don't see how any fan can actively root for their team to end that streak.

But I've always been different. I don't see how fans so easily root for their team to lose games.

I don't think the Clippers remember being the team that finally lost to the Cavs and ended their streak.

Well when you are 8th worst in the league, and you have to finish top 8 in the lottery to keep your pick, I'm rooting for us to lose-out. Like I said, every loss counts. IDC who they are playing or what the circumstances are. Hopefully it is a moral killer and we continue to lose.

They need to get down to 7th. Why root for a team to win games that get you nothing when losing games actually gets you something.

Yep, I'm sure we will get leapfrogged in the lottery as we do every season.

If you say so, but my point still remains. Screw actively rooting for your team to lose, much less rooting for your team to lose against a team that's lost that many straight. And like I've always said, losing just breeds a losing mentality, and a losing mentality means more losing.

Sure, but screw losing to a team that has lost 26 straight. That would be so embarrassing and be a pretty big letdown for the Pistons and their players.
That just gives more of a reason to fire everyone and rebuild

They are doing the smart thing. Sixers want to win, so let them have it

Another team losing streak ending at 26 though, Teagz.

We get it. You took exception to people telling you that you should be rooting for the Hornets to lose. Does that give you the right to tell people they shouldn't root for what they want to?

What's better for the franchise, drafting a player you've deemed being top 8 in the draft, or not getting anyone but you don't have the embarrassment of losing to the worst team in the league, with 80% of those players not likely to be on your team within 2 years? It'd be a different situation if the Pistons didn't stand the chance of losing their draft pick and were just angling for better position

I don't think I'm holding a gun to anyone's head and telling them what they need to do. Just merely giving my opinion on a subject.

Obviously you'd rather have the pick, but maybe I have a little bit of the mindset of a coach, but I'm not actively rooting for losses to get that pick. Again, losing just breeds a losing mentality, and a losing mentality means more losing. There's a reason the same teams are in the lottery every season. I mean how well has this strategy done for the Cavs? Four top four picks in the last three drafts I believe, and they are still a struggling franchise. Teams are drafting these 18-20 year olds into franchises that lack winning mentalities, and how good the players seem to be coming out they rarely live up to expectations. If you were to lose games and keep that pick, great. I wouldn't be devastated or even disappointed that we lost. But I am not rooting for losses.
