I think he averaged 4 a game as a rookie, or at least right under it.

We've got a lot of players being classified as once in a generation. It's making the term obsolete.

You can't throw around the term once in a generation that loosely.

For real. Once in a generation is Magic, MJ, Kobe, Lebron..... not Anthony fucking Davis lol

Wouldn't even call Magic once in a generation because Bird was one draft behind IIRC.

I would agree somewhat, but considering there are 20-30 years in a generation I'd say there are more generation players than people realize.

If anything, the term "once in a generation" is dumb. But to be fair, I wasn't the one using that term.

there is not 20-30 years in a sports generation.

I don't even know if that is a real term, but if it is, people shouldn't use it, there is no way to measure how long a "sports generation" is.

A generation is 20-30 years.

how the fuck do you figure?

players dont play at the same high level for 20-30 years. you have players coming along that are better, you have to wait until players are at a lebron type level or long retried to call them a "once in a generation".

if you arent changing the game the way lebron is, or mj was, kobe was, etc, then you arent in that category.

The team looks so much better when we get Andre active early. As I've been saying all fucking season, they need to get him touches early and often.

Option years for #1 picks get really high. What are the chances Cleveland eventually declines one of Bennett's option years?

About a 0% chance.
I was thinking the same thing, but then I actually started to think about it. I think that second option year is 7.3M, if he doesn't improve SUBSTANIALLY over the next three years I could see it. I don't think it's a 0% chance, but I do think injuries would be a bigger reason than him not improving.

They weren't #1 picks, but I believe Thabeet and Beasley were declined. Could be wrong though.

Lets say the 1% chance of LeBron coming here happens. There would be no cap space to sign impact players. Holding onto Bennett and hoping he turns around is worth it at 7 mill in the NBA.

If the Cavs strike out in free agency, like anticipated, there is little reason to not keep him, because you're still not a contender, and it's worth it to hope he pans out.

I think going into year four of his career the hope would pretty much be gone. That's a long time. I don't expect that to happen though. If you followed the draft talk this year you'd probably remember me not liking him at all, but I do think he'll atleast be a valuable role player.
