Can anyone explain to me how the safety should have been supposedly ruled a touchback? Supposedly because the Patriots punted tried to throw it forward and it hit a Colts player, then rolled out of the back of the endzone, that it should, by rule, have been called a touchback with a first and 10 at the 20 for the Pats.

Makes no sense, whatsoever, and yet people are going on and on and on about it away from this site. Without a change in possession, there is no way that the botched snap play should have resulted in a first and 10 for the Pats.

Allen had possession and fumbled it. Indy knocked it out of the back of the end zone, but they never had possession. Safety

Which is exactly what I'm trying to explain to the people I'm debating with. I can't believe they don't understand that the supposed "impetus" provided by the opposing team in the NFL rulebook applies only in instances when a swat or bat is intentional.

If the play had been ruled an attempted pass, it would have been grounding.

Exactly.

It was a bad play by the Patriots and in no way should have benefited them. Even if this supposed rule that people are pointing to did exist, would you not want it abolished, immediately?

if the Pats make the Super Bowl, Belichick deserves the COTY Award. This team should not be good enough to make it after all these injuries

Pats scores in the Divisonal Round the past three years

2013: 43-22
2012: 41-28
2011: 45-10

I see two upsets. 9ers over the Panthers and the Chargers over the Broncos.

Sure the Broncos are going to have a chip on their shoulder since the last game, I just think the Chargers are playing good all-around football. The 9ers, well they've been playing good football. Enough said on that haha.

Yeah if anything Carolina is the upset. I can't see THw chargers beating Denver. Fuck, chargers playing New England would be boring to me
