Yall still doubting the Falcons? smh
Because they won-- no, survived a playoff game against a wild card team, they've rid themselves of all doubt? You might be one of the most arrogant fans I know considering your team has accomplished so little.

I'm not even gonna bother with you bosox.

CC, you are a classic anti-Patriots fan, and it's obvious

Ravens D has played 174 snaps in the past two games, and their defense isn't young at all. New England runs a ridiculous pace that is going to rip apart that Ravens defense like it did against Houston. 41 points, 466 yards.

We are one of the few, if only, offenses that can still do very well when our most dangerous weapon is out. We will run a 2 TE package, where Hernandez is more of a WR and Hoomanawanui acts as a 6th blocker. If the Ravens play in base, we will spread the field and flank Vereen out (have him on a LB), and Brady throws it like crazy. They play sub, and we run the ball for 120+ yards like we did against Houston.

Yeah ik "tl/dr". Idgaf, you are just extremely ignorant if you don't think the Patriots won't cover.

I'm not even going to bother with breaking down each and every one of the points you've made, because while they may come into play, you clearly just don't understand football. It is a one time, 3 hour slugfest that more often than not results in one team simply overpowering the other. Baltimore is going to come in to New England next weekend and win. Joe Flacco will outplay Tom Brady again. The Ravens will have much more success stopping your running game than Houston because, well gee, Baltimore has BETTER PLAYERS in their front 7 than that injury plagued Houston front did. Bradie James was once a stud, and he's still damn good, but he's not Ray Lewis. JJ Watt is the only player across that front 7 who's definitively better than his Ravens counterpart. Ellerbe's been a beast. Ngata is playing. Ray and Suggs are back. Terrance Cody's coming around. Paul Kruger has been nice during this playoff run.

Calm the fuck down. The Patriots aren't covering any 9.5 spread. They might win, but if it's by that margin or greater we can just as well crown them Super Bowl Champions because if they dispose of the Ravens like that, they'll sure as hell demolish either NFC counterpart they'd face in the big game.

I fully expect you to come into this thread and offer a post in which you eat your words if the Pats lose.

A fucking 9.5 spread, and you think they'll get it. Just freakin' wow, man. Wow.

We average 9.9 more points per game than the Ravens, and just put up 41 on the team with the better scoring defense... the team that dominated the Bengals offense just one week earlier

I fail to see how a 9.5 spread (TD and FG) is so hard to come by. Our +226 season point differential is astonishing, 2nd highest in NFL history.

You act like because Cushing was out, the Texans were scrubs. EVERYONE ELSE was healthy. Watt. Barwin. Smith. Reed. Cody. Rudd. This is still a top 10 defense

Baltimore is 1-4 in NE in the Brady era, and in that one loss, Welker was out, Moss was doubled, and we had no other options on offense (which is why the year later we drafted Gronk and Hernandez). Brady had no options to throw it to, and the Ravens were fairly rested. We have much more passing targets now, and that Ravens defense will simply not be able to keep up with the pace the Patriots play at

Simple as that

Yeah, because they aren't that good. The first half of last weekend's game had a lot more to do with Seattle playing bad than Atlanta playing good. Y'all got your shit kicked in the second half and didn't deserve to win that game.

BUT, I do think the 9ers are overrated, too. I think I'm gonna pick Atlanta.
So, the first half had nothing to do with how good the Falcons played, but the second half was all about how terrible we were??? Get the fuck out of here. We didn't get our "shit kicked". Seattle made halftime adjustments while we went back to conservative play-calling. We didn't even pull out our no-huddle offense the entire game. We came in with a great offensive and defensive plan and shutout Seattle in the first half, and unlike you, I'll give credit where credit is due and say Seattle did a good job coming back into the game, but one interception and 2 3-and outs (after not having any the entire game) does not qualify as getting our "shit kicked", especially since we won the game.

Can Atlanta stuff the run again? They were one of the worst run defenses in the league during the regular season, meanwhile San Fran ran for 323 yards last week.
Comparing our regular season stats to San Frans postseason stats...nice
I don't even have to mention how much our Run D improved last week compared to the regular season. If you honestly think the Niners will have the same breakout game they had last week, that's on you.

Because they won-- no, survived a playoff game against a wild card team, they've rid themselves of all doubt? You might be one of the most arrogant fans I know considering your team has accomplished so little.

I am by no means an arrogant fan. Everyone continues to diminish my team's successes, and I'm sick of it. Saying we "survived" a playoff game is absolutely false and quite ridiculous. We WON the game, plain and simple. Matt Ryan came out with 30 seconds left in the game and set up the field position for Matt Bryant to WIN the game, not survive the game. It's bullshit remarks like that that cause me to even say anything. Having confidence in my team doesn't mean I'm arrogant. I told you guys last week when everyone doubted the Falcons we would win the game, but it'd be a battle, and I'm right. I know my team's strengths and weaknesses, I know how they matchup, which is simply why I'm more than confident we can get a win. Look back at the regular season, we have 7 4th quarter comebacks. We're not gonna go on the field and simply blowout an opponent. That's just not the type of team we are, especially not in the playoffs. We play hard fought games and have that extra push to come out with the win. I don't care if you think we deserved to win, because the only team that deserved to win is the one that did win, it's as simple as that.
I'm not backing off the confidence in my team, because I know we can do it, regardless of what happened in the past years (which is still completely fucking irrelevant to this year).

How about instead of making salty comments about how my team "didn't deserve to win" you learn to give credit where credit is due?

I'm not an anti Patriots fan lol I just think you're way too overconfident about this game. The Ravens beat the Patriots earlier in the year, there's no way the spread should be 9.5. Factor in that the Ravens have outplayed the Patriots the last two times they've met in the playoffs (yes they did last year and if you try to deny it you're the world's biggest homer), both games being in Gilette stadium mind you, and I see absolutely zero reason why the spread is so big. If you really think just a straight up "points average per game" is a reason why the Patriots will cover, you're blind.

I wouldn't say the Ravens outplayed us in either game, when both had many missed calls that came to spite the Patriots. But both games were really close

From the Week 3 game, there were SO many missed penalties or they called irrelevant penalties. The refs were terrible, and this game's officiating was horrendous. It was only masked by the media for the game that next day was a "tad" worse (GB/SEA)

Our defense is greatly improved, which is part of the reason why our team has done so well as of late. Talib is a very good corner, amd Dennard is good as well. And McCourty is so much better as a S than CB. Defensively for this week, Talib on Boldin, Dennard on Torrey (with McCourty helping above) is good defense to stop the passing attack. And the Pats run defense did a good job on Foster last week. For the first 26 minutes of the game, Foster had 3 rushing yards on like 6-7 attempts. 17 out of his 22 attempts were runs for less than 5 yards. He had a 6 yard carry, two 7 yard carries, and a 19 & 21 yard carry. Aside for those two runs, Foster did not have a great day. We can hold off Rice enough, to like 70-80 yards. Plus they will need to throw the ball on us when we get ahead

Since 2007, at least one team that made the Super Bowl lost Week 15. Patriots and Ravens both lost Week 15 this year

They are patterns

No back to back NFC South division winners
At least one team from the previous SB doesn't win their division
Team that beats the Falcons in the playoffs makes the SB

All three are true (if ATL wins the SB, nobody "beat" them, so the stat is still good), and now there are four.

I don't care if you don't like them, because most people here don't like you.

Falc, Atlanta sold out on the run last week and were hurt by the pass because of it. Infact, I'd say if Seattle didn't spend so much time trying to establish the run early in the game it would have been a different ball game. You won't be able to do that against San Fran this week, no way a poor Falcons run D holds up two weeks in a row against the 3rd and 4th ranked rushing teams in the league. That just isn't logical, something has to give.

I'd give the Falcons the same shot of winning as the Ravens

Possible, but unlikely

I don't get why you think the Ravens are unlikely to win. I give them a 50-50 shot if not being more likely. Ray Lewis is on a mission.

Man, that was a lot to read. The Falcons deserve respect, they've been good all year. Just seems like everyone is bashing Atlanta because everyone knows it will only get Falc worked up, which seems to be working. Everyone has a right to their opinion, however. I guess the game on Sunday will speak for all of it. I don't believe in the history crap, they can easily re-write it.

You think the Ravens are MORE likely to win at New England, the number one scoring offense who has a better scoring defense than the Ravens? We have a significant advantage in our pace, which the old, big bodied Ravens won't be able to handle at all. 174 snaps in two games is ridiculous, and then they face the fastest team in the league? You are actually crazy if you think they have better odds of beating the Patriots, especially if your reasoning is because you think Ray Lewis makes that much of a difference.

I was exaggerating but I think it's around 50-50. The last two times they played in New England in the playoffs, they outplayed the Patriots in both. You're the one always pointing to trends, man. Stay consistent.
