Cousins is lucky he'll be earning a steady paycheck...while many of the guys taken ahead of him will be thrown into the fire, systems that don't fit them, they'll disappoint and potentially be out of the league much, much faster.

RGIII is a stud but he isn't the prototypical quarterback. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he struggles and eventually busts. Keep ya head up Kirk...anything can happen in this league. I bet Matt Flynn feels as though being a #2 for as long was well worth it.

Kirk Cousins is a solid QB, I watched a lot of the MSU games and was always a fan of his game, I do think he could be a starter in the NFL, but he's screwed getting drafted by the Redskins, I don't understand that pick at all. He doesn't have have a chance in Washington, about one of the worst case scenarios just happened for Kirk.
The only way to look at it positively is to view it like Matt Flynn. He was a 7th rounder, and is now going to most likely start next year. Gruden has said he's talked to a lot of teams who didn't see Kirk Cousins as a backup. So he's hopefully trade bait in the future.

We had two fourth round picks to play with. (we traded back with the second one, and picked up another 6th)

Obviously we have quite a few needs, and that's the only reason why I was a bit skeptical at first, but with Griffin's style of play, he's going to be an injury risk. Cousins is very good insurance to have.

I will say that I wouldn't be too pleased to be a Skins' fan right now. You just gave up a shit-load to take RGIII...and then you follow up by making a pick that would signal there's some sort of doubt in your mind he won't work out.

Why take Cousins instead of address the Defense or add more weapons? Makes no sense.
