I was having that debate with my friend last night. I don't consider it a dunk either.
What I defined it as, was a slam. But not a slam dunk. For me, a slam dunk is having most of your hand above the rim, and throwing it in.

If you are dunking like a doughnut into coffee, you put the doughnut over the coffee and put it in, not throw it from a distance.

it;s all relative at that point IMO
if you want to say it's a dunk or it;s not a dunk, i dont care. it was a nice play both ways

but to call it an offensive foul when perkins throws an elbow at him mid-air is ridiculous

Regardless of what it was, it was certainly a dope play.
But for people to say dunk of the year and whatnot, I can't even consider it a dunk to say that.

Awaiting his departure to LA..
im debating whether or not he's worth a 1st rounder

on one hand, i hear it's a deep draft and the extra pick the lakers have could be used for dwight (dwight is so unlikely, i know, but bear with me)

on the other hand, i heard the draft only has 2 PG's projected to be 1st rounders and it's the lakers biggest need

this is more of a dunk than the movgov(overrated) and the superman dunk

i consider those slams as well and will clump them in with other dunks however

honestly, the difference between this and a true dunk is like an inch
dont be sticklers

Nope, I'm sticking with my stance that it is a slam haha.
Dwight and Blake introduced a whole new shot to the game of basketball. lol

Unless I missed his hand getting over the rim, it's still a slam :)

just because he didnt grab rim doesnt make it not a dunk
he was well above the rim and threw it down, even grazing rim

it's a flush. it's like Carmelo's signature 2 handed flush
still a dunk

Does your hand have to hit the cup with force for you to be dunking your doughnut?

im not even getting into that argument. i feel it was a dunk. you dont need to pull the rim down or get your whole hand on the rim. a finger did touch. its not a layup or a jumpshot thats for damn sure. so wtf would it be? a dunk.

Technically they could have called it, but you don't EVER see that called.

So no, it was not an offensive foul.
