Ray Allen signing with the Heat doesn't show problems with the cap, it shows Ray Allen's motives. The thing that allowed the Heat to sign Ray is there so they can add players of the caliber that should be payed that amount of money, it's not their fault that players who are worth more than that are willing to take that amount of money to play there

To be honest it DOES show something's wrong with the CBA though, and that not much was really fixed in the new CBA. One of the biggest issues was FAs being able to sign with the luxury-tax paying teams, and it clearly wasn't fixed.

In my honest opinion, if you're over the tax, you shouldn't have an MLE. You definitely shouldn't get one every year.

The Heat have the third highest payroll in the NBA. If the NBA was smarter they would have held out in labor discussions and got the right type of cap. When a team is what, 21M over the cap already, you shouldn't be able to sign a guy at nearly 4M a year (3.7). Bottom line, if you are over the lux tax (or even the cap) you shouldn't get a MLE.

I guess they did do a little to help it, but not nearly enough. For example, starting next offseason the Heat along with a lot of other teams won't be able to do S&T's. Heck, if we were a year in the future the Heat wouldn't have been able to give Allen 3.7M, only 3. Which he probably would have signed for if he had too, which again shows a problem with the cap.

#Magic are in talks w/the New Orleans #Hornets on a sign-and-trade involving Ryan Anderson, @orlandosentinel has learned.
Not sure if want.

I really wish Houston would just re-sign Courtney Lee. He could play point for us if it came down to that. I have a feeling we'll be resigning Aaron Brooks, though, and that ain't gonna help us at all. I can't say I want Sessions, either, but McHale and his coaching staff will make Ramon play defense, so maybe that'd be a good signing.

The Suns rescinded the QO offer to Aaron Brooks, he's an unrestricted FA

The heat will be able to go over that tax more and more if they get that tv deal too.

I'm in the way, you can't pass like Aaron Brooks.

And yes, that line was for the QB, not the PG lol.
