Damian Lillard is only the third player in NBA history to record at least 20 points and 10 assist in their NBA debut. Only Oscar Robertson and Isiah Thomas have done that.

Pretty impressive.

A couple of things I was really concerned about last night with Houston:

1. Tony Douglas, could he have played worse? Yikes
2. Chandler Parsons tried to lead the break too much and almost always ended up turning the ball over. Outlet to Lin or Harden and then run the floor, Chandler. You can sky for alley-oops or spot up, two of your strengths. Come on, man.
3. No White, Jones, or Motiejunas sightings. That was absurd. At least two of those three can play, and it's not like Marcus Morris was anything but invisible most of the time.
4. DaQuon Cook better get his shot going.

Upsides:
1. Do I even need to mention James Harden
2. Jeremy Lin ran the break well a few times. I hope he keeps getting better.
3. Carlos Delfino and Greg Smith. Damn.
4. Omer Asik is not the offensive liability I was afraid he'd be. As long as he continues to roll and move his feet, he can score around 8-12 a game.

Yeah where the heck was White, Jones, and Motiejunas. I was waiting for them to check in cause I wanted to see them play, but they never did lol. Did they get any burn in the pre-season?

I'm a Lillard fan, wasn't before the draft, but I am now, but everyone is overreacting to last night's game. Not like the Lakers were trotting out any impressive defensive PGs and Lillard still turned the ball over 6 times and shot 41% from the field.

I think more people are impressed about the assists, seeing as some people (*cough NOLA cough*) were calling him a one-trick pony.

And Royce White probably didn't play because Detroit is far away.

Exactly. Everyone was bagging on him for only averaging 4 per in college.

He was there, yes, but was he emotionally stable enough to play?

yes, he has talent. could be a solid starter but id prefer off him off tje bench to play 3/4.

He arguably had as much TALENT as anyone in the draft, but he's a fucking nutball. But you're right, McHale clearly doesn't trust his rookies yet, and that's not surprising. It'll come with time.

Kevin Martin had a good Thunder debut. He MAY not end up being as efficient as James Harden for them, but he can definitely put up points in bunches.
