I think more of the question is why they traded for Anderson when they have Davis at PF for the long term future. I get that Davis can be moved to C eventually but I don't think he's gonna be ready for that for a WHILE

they drafted Austin when they were trying to re-sign Gordon, but they wanted him to play point when they already had Greivis
they tried to re-sign GOrdon when he missed like all of last year and has been fragile his whole career. they had a get out of jail free card
