Injuries go both ways. Would've been a whole different story with a healthy Von Miller, Brian Dawkins, Spencer Larsen also
Yeah, injuries are the last excuse for the Steelers to blame the loss on. Injuries definitely go both ways. All it was is the Steelers underestimated what Tebow and the Broncos could do on offense and got burned.

Some interesting games coming up.

I can really see most of them going either way. ( the Giants-Packers, 49ers-Saints, and Broncos-Pats, texans-ravens)

The 49ers defense intrigues me. How good are they really?

I know they're good, but are they really dominate? I don't think, I think they benefited from playing a lot of bad QB's. Just look at this list in order:

Tarvaris Jackson
Tony Romo (didn't play whole game)
Andy Dalton
Michael Vick
Josh Freeman
Matt Stafford
Colt McCoy
John Beck
Eli Manning
Skelton and Bartel
Joe Flacco
AJ Feely
John Skelton
Ben Roethlisberger (hurt)
Tarvaris Jackson
Kellen Clemens

They haven't played anyone close to the stature of Drew Brees.

They are good, I think they can hold the Saints to 24 points. They've played some good QB's on that list, their defense is very sound and they should be able to control time of possession. It will be a good game.

I think they can hold the Saints to 24 also, but I don't think that would be enough for them to win. The Saints are the best offense they've faced all year, and quite honestly I don't think it is close. We have the BEST pass offense in the NFL, and interesting fact that I don't think too many people realize, we also are the 6th best rushing team in the NFL.

Also, they won't be able to control time of possession. Teams always try to against the Saints, but never can.

I think the Saints win by 7-10 points, 27-17 or 27-20.

The 49ers will, I'll guarantee it. They aren't going to sit back and pass it, they'll start passing it once their running game gets going, which it generally always does. I think the 49ers could put up 27. That's Harbaugh football, smash mouth football. That is how they will be successful on offense, if the running game gets going, it will only open up the passing game.

Lol the 49ers aren't putting up 27.

The Saints will control the ball with the short pass game, and the screen/scream pass game. I guarantee that.

They averaged nearly 24 points per game this year, I don't see how 27 is impossible, especially going against a mediocre defense.

Mediocre? Over the last 10 games of the season we allowed less than 19 points per game.

Look, the 49ers are built a lot like the Falcons on offense. Run the football and take the pressure off of average/slightly above average QB's. Not only do we play the Falcons twice a year, so we have a lot of experience in offenses that want to physically run the football to open up the pass, but one could very much argue that our defense is built to stop that type of offense.

Big run stuffers (not pass rushers) on the outside who control the edges (Will Smith and Cam Jordan), big run stuffers on the inside (Shaun Rogers, Aubrayo Franklin, Tom Johnson) and one of the leagues premier in the box safeties (Roman Harper). We also have Scott Shanle who is a very sound OLB who can stop the run, and guys in our secondary aren't the least bit afraid to get dirty and be active in the run game (Malcolm Jenkins, Jabari Greer, Patrick Robinson).

I don't know if you watch the playbook shows on NFLN at all, but it's been said very many times that our entire DL is taught to play run first and our corners are often left on a island because of that.

If St. Louis can put up 31, San Francisco can put up 27. They aren't an elite defense, I do know that. If they can hold Brees under 27 points, they have a chance at winning. I just think the Saints defense can be beat, it just all comes down to stopping Brees and that's the hard part.

The Falcons running game doesn't even compare to the 9ers. I don't care about stats either.

Anyone who brings up that St. Louis games just proves they don't have the first clue what they are talking about regarding the Saints.

Should we discuss the Green Bay-Kansas City game also?

Why not? That game proved to the league the Packers could be beaten by anyone really, and they haven't looked the same since.
Also, looking at some running backs this year, there has been some big games against the Saints.

Basically all I'm hearing here is "well they could, and this has happened, so...it could happen."

I could technically have a one night stand with Scarlett Johannson, but will that happen? Hell no.

You can't even compare that, man.

Anyways, the Panthers ran all over you guys twice, Ernie Graham had a big day, MJD, Delone Carter, etc. Guys have put up some big YPC avg's against the Saints, and Gore will be no different, and that 9er D is great. They are built for playoff football.

I am quite familiar with the Saints, they have a suspect defense. You bring up the last ten games but Detroit did pretty much whatever they wanted on offense against them a week ago, only reason the Lions lost was because the Lions defense played even worse. The Saints, Packers, Patriots all have suspect defenses, they just score a ton on offense to make up for it. It wouldn't shock me at all if the 49ers put up 27, not one bit. I'm not saying the Saints defense is atrocious, but they aren't real great either. They are average, maybe a little above that. I know the Lions offense is pretty potent and the 49ers offense isn't to that level but still.. I think you underestimate the 49ers a good bit.

Some people here just can't handle the truth when it comes to a lot of things, they think their team is above and beyond everyone else and whoever says anything negatively against them is instantly an idiot. I'm not taking anything away from the Saints, they are a damn good team, but so is the 49ers. They might not be as flashy, but they don't need to play that way to win.

And you can't say with a 100% doubt in your mind that the Saints are going to score 27 points. So basically, the Saints "could" score 27, or they "could not."

Hey look, now we're talking about the Saints in hypotheticals like we were with the 9ers
