Well, Unfortunately that batter just kept battling and battling and battling and I figured it wouldn't end up very well for Verlander, and it didn't. It was a ball, had they called it strike everyone like D-Will would've been saying he had it handed to him, so he earned his second no hitter instead.

Gallardo also took a no-no into the eighth today. Would have been crazy if there were two in the same day.

in 1990, Dave Stewart of the A's and Fernando Valanzuela of the Dodgers each threw a no-hitter on the same day
and the craziest part is that ESPN had those games televised back to back that night!
imagine that. wow

He didn't miss many bats today. No strike outs, lots of long at bats with tons of foul balls. Just didn't have his best stuff.

And Alex White is looking pretty good. Has had a few bad moments that you expect a rookie to have, but he's done real well. Don't know how long he'll be in the majors though with Mitch Talbot and Carlos Carrasco coming off the DL in the near future.
That's the part that surprised me the most. No strikeouts. No that strikeouts are guarantees but you would think just about any pitcher, especially starter, could manage at least one strikeout.

I'm going to keep my eyes out for him. He did good against us, and pitching better than Weaver in a match up i'm sure most thought he'd be the worse pitcher. Understandably. Getting his 1st big league win had to be nice for him. Even if he doesn't stay up very long, it would be nice for the Indians to know they have a guy they could call up to deal for them when they need it.

I was beyond scared when the 9th came around. When I saw the ESPN alert, and than I saw a Facebook group someone made for the no-hitter before the 9th even started. If it didn't happen, I would've tracked that person down and messed them up.

Mets face Kershaw today, we are so gonna rough him up. RA Dickey is gonna end that hitting streak too.

Brad Penny has pitched a hell of a game.

Which is more and more making Coke our only real weakness in the rotation. Well, consistently a weakness.

Also, I like how I go to ESPN and it says "Sanchez no-hitter throughout the 6th." Refresh the page "Nats end no-hit bid for Sanchez." Successful ESPN jinx, once again. lol.

That's game. Valverde strikes out the side. Gets his 200th save in the process. Let's try and finish of the series tomorrow.
