I never expected the average but I was saying all along after we made the deal that this is the kind of homer potential he had with us.

Yeah and the fact that he learned to consistently hit lefties really helped him.

The most surprising thing to me is he's actually hitting lefties

He's hitting lefties better, but he's still struggling with them. He has a similar average against lefties and righties but his OBP is 20 points lower against lefties meaning he's still not seeing the ball that well.

He's still obviously going to do better against righties, it's natural, but his improvement against left handed pitching is impressive. Just 2 years ago he was hitting under .200 against them.
