Phil Hughes has terrible command, second time he missed his spot and Cabrera hit it over the fence

It ain't Hughes.
Cabrera is just the best hitter in baseball.

It is Hughes, he's not hitting his spots. Martin wanted it down and away and it was right over the middle.

And Pujols is the best hitter in baseball no questions asked, not Cabrera.

Better HR hitter, yeah.
I'd take Miguel in any other aspect though.

No.

Pujols is the best all-around hitter in the game. Pujols has a better career AVG, better career OBP, and has out-homered Cabrera nearly every season

And Tex <3

Since when does career average numbers matter?
Miguel had an overall better season than Pujols last year, in 9 less games, in a much tougher pitching AL.

So one season better makes M-Cab the better player? Please.

Pujols has 3 MVPs and would have 5 if it wasn't for Bonds and his steroids

I still fail to see how a track record constitutes a current better hitter.

According to your logic, ARod is still the best hitter in baseball, and Jeter is the best SS in the league.

I'll leave you with two questions. Who is the best power hitter in the league? And who is the best closer in the league?

What does that have to do with the best hitter in baseball?

I know you are looking for Rivera and Pujols.
And Rivera and Pujol's track records are there, but that has nothing to do with how they played in 2010.
Rivera still has the stuff to be the best closer, same goes for Pujols as power hitter.

Still has nothing to do with best overall hitter.

Still wouldn't say Cabrera is the best overall hitter. Just my opinion

And that's the beauty of opinions.

Yes, I am looking for Mo and Pujols, but statistically, they weren't the best last season, that would be Soriano/Wilson and Bautista. You not saying them means that you already agree that track records matter, you just don't want them to because Miggy is a Tiger.

Lets put it this way, Pujols hit .312, hit 42 homers, had a .414 OBP, a 1.010 OPS, and everybody considered it a DOWN YEAR! That is phenomenal. Pujols has had a better year than Miggy every season but last year and even then it was close.
