OMG Granderson, that was close.

The hardest ball to catch as an outfielder is the one hit right at you. That looks like a simple play that he made difficult by misplaying, but it really isn't.

seriously, if the yankees were so sick of burnett where they would eat most or all of that contract a la Boston and Manny, i'd take him on the dodgers

We wouldn't eat much of it. IMO he's a pitcher that would translate well to the bullpen. He'd be an incredibly expensive reliever, but if he could pitch well it's better than him sucking in the rotation.

If you could get something of merit, and the Dodgers just might do it (Casey Blake for Carlos Santana), you'd be incredibly stupid not to eat most if not all of that contract.

Completely different situations. Blake wasn't being paid nearly as much and he wasn't nearly as bad as AJ is.

If you pay some salary it doesn't matter how much more he makes than Blake did. And I'm not saying you'll get a Carlos Santana but anything would probably be better than AJ. Addition by subtraction.

Great call by that umpire too. I actually thought he was out at first.

Apparently, Russell Martin missed 3B when he came around to score.

Hell of an outing for AJ. That was clutch.

Time for the strength of our pitching to get us through this.

Honestly, I won't complain about AJ for the rest of this post-season, regardless of how poor he pitches simply because of tonight. It wasn't pretty, but 1 run in 6 innings was fucking clutch tonight.

I was actually talking to someone today on how I want the Indians to sign Napoli for 12-13 million per, trade for BJ Upton, and trade for AJ Burnett, with the Yankees picking up most of his contract.
