The unnamed player the Leafs traded to Chicago was Jimmy Hayes. Not to surprising since the Blackhawks drafted his brother yesterday.

Decent draft for the Canes, Austin Levi was a terrible pick though I was praying JR would take Pulkkinen but he had to draft an American from his beloved Plymouth Whalers.

I was not high on Kabanov coming into this draft but I love him with in the 3rd for the Isles. Avs' fans have to be stoked about getting Pickard at pick 49 too.

wouldve like Kabanov to the Hawks sometime in the 2nd.
wouldve liked etem at the 24, but hayes could be more of a power foward (Byfuglien replacement?)

Hurricanes pick up young defensemen

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes picked up a pair of former first-round draft picks and even more young defensemen during the second day of NHL draft.

As promised, the Hurricanes added some depth on the blue line Saturday by taking two defensemen in the second round and five overall. They also traded for two former first-rounders, acquiring center Riley Nash from Edmonton and defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti from the New York Rangers in separate deals.
