I think Detroit will end up brining back Magglio. Fans want him back real bad.
Ask the Knicks about that.Tigers will get someone besides Martinez. Almost willing to guarantee that.
We didn't get all these big contracts off the books for no reason.
Your lineup has a bigger need for power than you do speed. Ellsbury and Pedroia (healthy) are plenty of speed...Werth is needed to clean up & if Papi can muster a full season of hitting longballs, he and Jayson would be a dangerous 4-5 combo.True. Question is, who would you prefer, Crawford or Werth?
You have no hope for Beltre coming back. Beltre wants more money than his option, a longer term deal, and Boston won't be willing to give that to him. For what Beltre is going to demand, Theo will just focus his attention on Werth...a way more reliable hitter. And no, I can't see Boston signing Werth and then negotiating to bring back Beltre. With K-Mart going and possibly Beltre, we need a big bat in the middle of the line up.
Just speculation
1. Ellsbury
2. Pedroia
3. Ortiz/Youilis
4. Ortiz/Youkilis
5. Werth
6. Hopefully Beltre
Adam Dunn son!!!Then we need a third baseman. Move Youk to third, then sign someone who can play first. Possibly Derrek Lee?
Pipe dream. As expect, Sox eyeing Werth.

Imagine if we got both Crawford and Werth? Crawford in left, Ellsbury in centre, and Werth in right.................
